ive never done this before..

ive never had what i'd call a lasting commited relationship before, i've alwas, ALWAYS, been the bit of fun..sometimes without even realising it and now a really great guy has come into my life (single-which makes a change!) and he wants to be so open about whats going on between us, i've never done this before and it scares me, and its silly little stuff like holding hands and kissing in public..it scares me as i've never experianced the public thing before,he understands and is taking his time with me, and constantly asks if im ok with what he's doing, and generally seems to care about me.

should it really be this scary?
what can i do to chill out a bit more?

it's probably bound to be scary at first. i'd been with my first boyfriend for a while before we "we public" with it, and it was kind of uncomfortable at first, but now i'm used to it and it's fine. if you're uncomfortable with kissing in public, i don't see that you'd need to, but don't be afraid to ease into other things, like holding hands and just being close. it sounds like this is a guy you can be proud of, and he'll probably understand that you need to get comfortable. good luck
