I have so many ideas on what to write and I will begin to write but after the first few lines I cant write anymore. its getting me down because I have so much more to offer, I just cant put it into words. has anyone else had this before and how did they deal with it?

    Yes, I have.
I went through 8 months of writers block. Pure Hell.

Anyways, keep in mind some of the best poems aren't always long. I know for sure two of my poems don't exceed 8 lines...But, they're some of the best ones I've written.

If it does bother you, however, and you want to write longer, (what I did to get away from writers block, though I know this isn't what you have, may help) simply write poems from the heart. Even if they suck, you can always revise them later. If you keep writing, soon this bought of a few lines will turn into 20 lined poems and more.

So, basicallly, just simply write and it'll get easier and better as it goes.

What I say to this problem is, just write. Let the words flow onto the paper, even if they don't make sense. Pretty soon the words are bond to become something.

another idea is to write kind of the same poem just different versons. and with different ideas. and i agree with what the other people have said. just write. regardless of what it sounds like.

i usually end up with alot of odd verses from ideas i have had from inspiration to write a poem, but sooner or later i do tend to find that the majority of them usually fit together and give me a poem, which i think is good because the poem is then filled with so many different feelings and inspirations so yeh i think having too many ideas can never be a bad thing =]

I keep all the little stanza's i write in a notebook and come back to them when i need them or have a poem half written that could use one.
I think that makes sense, lol

anything that comes to u spontaneously while out and about, WRITE DOWN. u may find that one single idea finishes the poem for u.

when you have lots of ideas write them all down really quick in short-hand and then write about the ideas you wrote down.

I keep a little book in which I write my ideas down right when they come to my head, this helps because I forget very quickly so this way I can just look back into my book and know what I wanted to write about, I suggest doing this...it helps alot.

You should write your Ideas down on a piece of paper and what ever you topic you choose for that day then write about it.
