Poem writing strategies

Hi there! I don't know much about writing either, so this is strictly my opinion...as to the last question you had... I always have had strong feelings, but have never really written before and in the last week I wrote 3 poems a night and each one took me maybe a little more than 5 or 10 min. but I had strong feelings at the time...so my answer would be just to go with what you feel at the time~! My poems tend to rhyme too but I'm fully aware that they don't need to...and I think I'll be trying that soon in the future...that's just how my thoughts seem to come to me, with words that rhyme. Good luck! :)

As for myself, most of what I write is written for one specific person. It just deals with what I am feeling at that time. For the past year, most of what I have written has been for the same person. LOL. I am not trying to make a living, I just love that so many ppl can take a look at something I wrote.

well first of all, writing good poetry has nothing to do with iambs or meters. actually, I don't think there's such a thing as good poetry. it's all in the opinons I guess. I mean sure, I've read SO many poems on this site that i absolutley love but...like I said, its all in the opinion. you should write to get your feelings out. and as far as knowing when to stop changin lines or whatever goes...well there are no rules to that. make your poetry, whatever YOU want it to be. there's no limit to stop changing it...but I guess it also depends on WHY a person is writing poetry. but idk, i hope I helped some
