Ok. To me, I just write when a good idea comes to my head, or something is bothering me. I seem to write more when I'm feeling something strong, such as anger or sadness.

Does anyone else write when they have a certain emotion or a sudden image? Or is it just little odd me again? Lol. I'd love to see what you guys have to say. =) xoxo

I feel the exact same as you, most of my poems are usually better written when I am angry or sad I dont know why, I also find more ideas come to you head.

I find it really difficult to write a poem when I'm not feeling passionate with emotion, whether it's love, sadness I have to feel it to be able to write about it most of the time.. There is the odd occassion when emotions don't come into them but very rarely

shove your head in a pillow and just scream. let it all out....then laugh and laugh some more and then sit and write. smile. and repeat if necessary.

I indeed write when I feel emotional. Some of my best work has been when I feel extremely depressed, and the raw visceral feeling that you have as your emotions course through you is when the words literally flow from my brain and into my hands. Some of the poems I have on this site took me forever to write, especially some of the lamer ones, and some of them took five minutes to write, and are currently getting perfect fives. Being in an emotional state helps convey the raw viscerality, for lack of a better word, into the poem, making the reader feel it very strongly. That's why some people cry when they read love poems or depressing poems. The emotions in the poem are actually imposed upon the reader. It's very cool.

My poems are the emotions and meanings in my heart and soul.I write for many reasons(which are discussed in other topics/forumns), I write for many reasons-emotionaol, intellectuactal, etc.But it all comes down to my emotions and beliefs, which are merely my opinions.

^^No. It's not bad. I write about death a lot of the time, but I don't actually mean that I'm going to go commit suicide anytime soon. Just write what your emotions are telling you, and it'll all come out right. =) xoxo
