I wish to hold a contest that consists of short and to the point poems. The poem can be about anything you wish. Just so long as it is short, and I would like to see deep meanings with some. Old or new. I will have 11 spots available and you are able to reserve. Will close when there are 11 poems.

Ashes And Dust

Here down below the face of the crust
there's a horizontal clay with open eyes
and on the other side people hardly trust
while they walk ignoring our silent cries

trying to find a difference between love & lust
as flashback runs behind my eyes again
sleeping here with my own ashes and dust
visualizing you driving someone else insane

Well, I don't know what you classify as short and to the point, but hopefully this'll go alright. It seems a little different, but I think this has the most meaning than alot of my other shorter, newer poems. Hope you like it.

Isn't it ironic;

You say you want to love me,
but you don't.
You say you yearn to need me,
but you won't.
You promise to always keep me,
And you can't.

You said-"If I could love just one person in all my life, it would only have been you."

Isn't it ironic;

I don't want to love you,
but I do.
I don't want to rely on you,
but I need to.
I promise myself to let you go,
And I can't.

Well I say-"If I could love just one person in all my life, it would never have been you.

Scribble

Charcoal smudges the edges
of my marble white paper
Closing my eyes in the room
I feel my fingers waver

First a line and then another
Driven by a force unknown
A mouth, an eye, a round nose
Strings of faces shown

Seated upon my flower bed
I stare into the frowns of those
Who lived and carried on a life
In a way unlike most

From angel to demon

Cry for the broken wings
Of a dying angel who sings,
Cause while you're sleeping
This fading angel is weeping,
He breaks in teary eyes
Waiting for his own demise
And bleeds more every day
As he feels it slip away...
His once beautiful white clothes
Turned to black and no one knows
That he's changed because of them
All their lies were killing him...
His loving feeling turned to hate,
He can't be saved now, it's too late...
His shining aura turned to spikes
Now he's someone no one likes:
A demon born from your filthy lies,
A lost soul that screams and cries...

.................Wrapped in a chain
.....................Aches growing
..........................Flowing

The syllable structure of the diatelle is as follows: 1/2/3/4/6/8/10/12/10/8/6/4/3/2/1 and it has a set rhyme pattern of abbcbccaccbcbba.
This poetry form may be written on any subject matter and looks best center aligned in a diamond shape.

Your Own Life

I scream to you words of wisdom,
as you continue not to listen.
I throw at you the truth of life,
as you continue to run and hide.
How sad it is you can not abide,
when blessings for you are so rife.
I speak to you the tears of pain,
as you continue to live life on your own,
your screams are heard by you alone,
and your fears come like rain.

no more. that took like one night for all of these.

i will let that last one to enter.

and now we wait for the two reserves. so far ive liked everybodys and they are all short and to the point to me.

The "I Love You" That Could Never Be

Have you ever fallen in love?
So far you can't find your way out?
You spent so much time trying to find love
Now you have spent what seems like even more just to get out
Nothing seems the same to you
All the other guys you date just don't seem right
You want him back in your life
You want to hear the sweet sound of
"I love you" come from his sweet gentle lips
Just like before
But it won't ever happen
Nor will I find my way out

now we wait for the one reserve.

The Tragic Crash. [Acrostic]

H im and his friends. As the

T heir television screens. "Three teens
R ushed to the hospital earlier today
A fter a tragic incident. No further details are
G oing to be released at this time." And with tears
I n my eyes I stood frozen staring at pictures of my friends
C ar. Two never lived through the night, and three
