I believe in both, because if you fell something when you first meet that one person that you just so happen to spend the rest of your life with it is love at first sight. True love is very powerful and every one EVERY ONE thinks love hurts. Well, ever thought that life isn't over yet and you'll find that one person for you before you die. You may not find him tomorow, in 5 minutes, next week, next month, or it could take a year. Just take time don't sweat over finding that one person. And true love also will do good for you and the feeling is bittersweet. LOVE WILL NEVER HURT IF IT'S TRUE!

Yes, if loves true it won't hurt. No I'm not too young to know this because it's common sense. People who spend the rest of there life with one person DOES have true love and it's a bittersweet feeling NOT a bad feeling. i think southern was refering to true love from both ends angelina, and in that case...i believe she is correct. in your instance, you felt true love but this person did not share the depth of feeling, so yes it hurt. mutual true love is TRUE love. sometimes two people find themselves on a tipping scale as well, where one person always tends to love the other more, and it goes back and forth..in that case it hurts too. true love is a rare thing and it does not hurt. being in love is not true love. in fact, i believe in true love but i think it is incredibly rare and most people never find it. but it still exists enough for me to believe in it! enough said

i CAN SAY i BELIEVE IN TRUE LOVE.I felt like I knew that this guy was for me when I first saw him.We got together..I broke up with him for no reason....then we got together again in our freshman year and he broke my heart 7 months later.But Now I'm a sophmore and I'm happy as heck with my boyfriend of 1 month and a week.

I don't think love at first sight is really...well, true. I mean, you can't just look at someone incredibly hot and know that very second that you're going to spend the rest of your life with him/her. Also, you could fall in love with someone's looks on the outside...but once you finally get to know them, they could jsut be a real a** hole on the inside. It's just going back to "Don't judge a book by it's cover". Pretty much what it is...

Angelina, you did not disappoint me one bit. I jumped to conclusions which was wrong, but I still believe if it was true love you would have stayed together. Maybe true love can hurt in that sense, when the two people are forced to be seperated....but I'm not sure that's what the girl was asking. I THINK she was asking whether two people truly love eachother can still hurt eachother or not. Either way, your personal experiences do not justify why others should feel the same.

AND. i'm not confusing anything about love. People can define the exact meaning of words however they chose, so you have proven. Puppy love ISN'T love. That's the difference. I still love all of my ex boyfriends, and I care about them because they affected my life in a big way and meant a lot to me at one point in my life. I love my best friends-old and new, and I love all of the friends that have made positive impressions on me, deeply. I love my family. That is love. True love is deeper still. I am in love with Jeff, and it is true. Together 2 years and still going strong. True love is wanting to spend the rest of your life with that person, willing to give up everything for them, making sacrafices that could make their life a little bit better, thinking about them all the time, smells and sights reminding you of them making your heart warm, knowing that they feel the same for you, being able to talk about ANYTHING with them, sharing everything together...knowing that you were always meant to be with one another.

I definately don't believe in love at first sight, the reason being that the person I now think of as one of the most beautiful women in the world was someone that I can honestly remember not being very attracted to at first. However, after getting to know her, spending more time with her, and becoming friends I actually couldn't think of someone more attrative (both physically and mentally).

now that i think about it...my parents have always said that they fell in love at first sight. and they've been together for 22 years now so..well, i don't personally believe in love at first sight, it just doesn't make sense. but i guess it exists for some people. when you see the person maybe you just know. egghhh i dono

I acctually believe in both. I once had love at first site (I know, ya'll probably think i'm really stupid now). But really, I didn't know him and I didn't think he was all that attractive, but it's just the way he looked at me when we first made eye contact. I had a feeling that i never felt before. He felt the same about me. It's not like I fell in love with him right then, though. Me and him started to get to know each other, then we fell in love.
But about true love, I haven't had that happen yet, it takes alot of time. But it will happen someday.
