tradition

well.. its almost christmas. so i decided that we should have a post about tradition.

say some things about the traditions of your country.. about the traditions of your family

and what is your favorite part of christmas

oh and marry christmas everyone :)

well, ever since i was little i always had a 'christmas eve' present...like one present i opened every christmas eve so i didnt have to wait! lol

and then on every december 1st me and my mom go to a coffee shop like starbucks or something, and get a 'christmas' drink like a gingerbread or peppermint latte, and we drive around listening to christmas music!

I love our wacky traditions :P there isnt anything special i would think about how us canadians celebrate christmas...its just...christmas. haha

my favorite part? driving around when snow is falling, christmas lights are on, and christmas music is playing. it really gets you in a christmas mood. and going to our church on christmas day and lighting a candle and singing christmas carols

In my family we get to open one present on Christmas Eve sometimes my mom will let us open two.
And we wake up at 7am and open presents and then go out to eat breakfast..
Nothing really special.

Opening the 1 present Christmas Eve, of course ... but here's a tradition that no one has the heart to say a word to Dad about.

He makes a shrimp cocktail to have before the Christmas dinner, and concocts his own sauce! The silent glances and snickers around the table are now all part of the routine ... even for the grandchildren that have come along ... and I do believe he's on to us all ... but won't say a word back either!

This is a tradition my tia (aunt) came up with. All the family gets together and ere body picks a number. Whatever number you get is the number package you get. When erebodys done, you open the gift, then we go in order, depending on the number you got, and if you dont like your gift you get to trade with someone else. But if someone else likes your gift they can get yours too. Even after you go.
