Do you feel empty today?

I feel empty today because my fiancee has gone to hospital for 5 days.
He suffers with PTSD and they're treating him.
Aparently they could make it worse. Or he could lose his memory all together.
Nothing feels right. It's only the first day he's been gone but I'm so used to talking to him on the phone about 6 times a day that it's so lonely without him.
    Anyone else feel like this?
Or have any advice on how to deal with it?

PTSD - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
He's in the RAF, has been posted in Iraq and got captured, blah blah.

Can't see him, he's not allowed visitors or any contact with the outside world until he's out.
Because he might say something confidential.

    -sigh-
    Day 3.

Keep yourself busy, be with your family and friends. Write poetry about your feelings.

By the way, is he still held captive? I'm confused about that part.

    No, he isn't.
He was held at the beginning of the 90's for 4 days. Tortured. The lot.
He goes through it again when he sleeps which is why he's gone for treatment.
    He'll be back tuesday hopefully.

PTSD is terrible, I read a lot about it. I hope really badly for both of you that he will get through it. I believe he will. Believe --

Wow, yes that is awful. I'm sure he'll be fine though, as the years go by i think the nightmares will become less and less. just be there for him when he comes home. how much older is he than you? don't worry, i'm not going to freak out if you say 30 or something.

Part of the reason why he has such bad dreams is because his mind is trying to make sense of it all. Hopefully talking it out with someone will help. Be supportive of his treatment it will be pretty draining for him and try not to press him too much about the what the doctors ask him. Slowly he should open up more and more to you. Just be supportive.

    I hope this helps.

    He's 35.
Talking doesn't help him, he's opened up a lot to me and told me things that the doctors don't know, but they have tried and tried for years to clear his mind but can't.
They sent him for electric shock treatment.
I finally spoke to him yesterday, he's ok. He said his head is thumping and he's exhausted but hopefully be home again on friday.
    Thanks for the support too.
