At the moment I’m finding it really hard to write any poetry. I don’t know why ,its like all my ability has just gone
Has this happened to anybody else?
Or is it just me losing any talent I had?
If anyone has experienced this than pls help me

i only have a small amount on this website
i don't want to put all my old poems on and the small number is also due to this problem

This happens a lot to most writers I would guess. Just face the fact that if you've lost the ability for now, and wait until it comes back. Just wait until you get in the right inspirational mood and you'll be fine.

I couldn't stop writing when I first began. People believe they have writers block when they really can't call themselves writers. Poets, maybe, but not writers.

Writers envelope themselves in all sorts of literary works. Essays, short stories, scripts, novels... Douse yourself with literature.

    Greetings,

There is a topic posted that contains many comments/suggestions/advice from various notable poets on this site.I suggest you check this out-it's quite lengthy, but covers many things-writer's block, publication, poetry forms and terms, suggestions/tips/writing exercises to get things flowing. It is well worth sifting through-there is something here for everyone and a great source of information on a variety of things.
It is under the topic NOTES ON WRITING POETRY.

its ok. i get it a lot. ive been writing for as long as i can remember (music since i was 11 and poems since i was 12, stories since i was 4) and i get it reguarly. I hav 2 accounts on here one that i dont use that has all my favs in it (my old one) and my new one which for ages i hated because i thought id lost my talent and all these were rubbish. Poetry is hard 2 write because you dont hav tone to help u send a message across and a true writer will experience writers block a lot because a) they are a perfectionist and b) there ideas are so amazing it is sometimes almost impossible to gather them and write them down. Give yourself time to sit on them and dont force it, ull get there. If your having trouble gathering the ideas in the first place, thats normal as well. Read other people poetry and comment on theres, ideas will come. Get out a sheet of paper and write down how you feel today. Write down what pleases you and what doesnt.
    e.g. I love Isaac.
    Now write why.
I love Isaac because he always listens to me, hes there when I need him, he amazing in every way...

Now how can u expand on that?
    I love Isaac because...
He listens to me like: the winds falters can be heard on a cold winters day?
He's there when I need him: Like the moon needs the sky?
Hes amazing in every way: Like a shooting star in the sky one night.

    Or

Hes amazing in everyway : The stars in his eyes sparkle with the reflections of the sun
Hes there when I need him: The sun feel out of the sky one night, so the moon took it's place till it felt alright.

    etc....
