Every now a then when the discussions seem to slow on this board I have ventured into other sites sometimes by invitation. It seems that political correctness is at the top of the rules in most discussion cyberspaces. I have been criticized many times for my lack of political correctness possibly because I have been heavily influenced by the teachings of a man who was crucified because he offended the religious authority of his day. It is my belief that a member of divinity was executed for being politically incorrect. Anyway on one such board that was reserved for the discussion of ethics, spirituality, and politics I was flattered by the manager that would always make me the topic, as she declared that my post were off topic. It seems ironical that political correctness limits the freedom of speech when it is taken too far |

PC dribble is just that meaningless dribble. What does having the right to free speech fundmentaly mean if not having the right to say things that you may not agree with or might even offend you. No is guaranteed the right to not be offend. There used to be this thing called common decency that made people respect each other. Apperntly we've lost our ability to be decent without a list of rules defining what decency is. People should have the right to discuss what ever they want using what ever terms they want. Yes this even means *GASP* racist terms. The risk of hurting someones feelings is a piss poor exuse for restricting someone else ability to express them self. |
