being a goth isnt a stereotype. the things that you associate with the word 'goth' are the stereotypes. By goth i mean person who sees the evil/darkness in human nature. pretty general, but everyone associate goth with black, black, black, chains, makeup, hair dye, and black. thats the stereotype. personally i think that cheerleaders arent gay, just....mislead. bliss in ignorance? haha, i was just talking about stereotypes too....

Gay used to mean happy, now it means homosexual. Same thing with fag or faggot. A lot of words have different meanings nowadays.

im impressed by erkle's enthusiasm. wow. he's abbsolutely correct. a goth is a historical people. i say that now and i said that earlier. but lipton! that was just a good comeback! well done. anywayz, yea. i wear masks everyday. theyre different depending on the time, but i think that theyre there to hide my true feelings from the world. sadness, depresion, hatred....i keep it under the surface. it usually only comes out in private so i feel so polar and so messed up inside.

yea. inner-goths. thats the topic. the whole stereotype thing was an inevitable sideconversation. but the topic is inner-goths. what is an inner-goth, why is an inner-goth? is an inner-goth even real? by inner-goth i meant that i act like everyone else (by that i mean that i dont wear my emotions on my sleeve) while i feel very depressed and apathetic on the inside. from what i can tell a lot of people feel that way. i dont know why everyone feels like that, different circumstances for different people i suppose. for me it was/is all the problems in my life that just pile up on me. so yea...

I do that to an extent. I hate it when people are always asking, "What's wrong?" I really don't like pity (there are only a few people I can stand it from).
There are only a few times that I will actually go and be genuinely mad/sad, and that's rare. Usually, I'm hyperactive (I get that way when I don't get sleep, and that's... wait... every night!), so, I'm not mad a whole lot anyway.

I guess some people are just more lucky when it comes to life then others...But yet again, half of the people who look on the dark side of life have no reasons to, because their life is usually pretty good...And of course their are people who life's sux...But before looking at everything as a piece of shit, think about your life, really...I use to always be depressed, and people use to always ask : "What's wrong ?" and I hated it.
But then I discovered that life isn't that bad if you're positive...Just think about it.

Being gothic does not automatically include wearing dark clothing/slitting wrists/being depressed all the time/piercing every body part/listening to a certain type of music or whatever some people are trying to say.

Goth is more or less a state of mind, not what is shown on the outside. Some people may pierce their entire body because they think it's cool. That doesn't mean they're goth. Same thing with the music, being depressed, etc.

Goths do look on the darker side of life. However, they aren't depressed and slitting their wrists all the time. I know girls at school that slit their wrists just for attention. Not to be goth.

this is true. i feel bad for those people. i really do. i might be the most empathetic person i know, because ive seen it so much, its really disheartening. but then again, if someone need to take that drastic an action for attention, its not attention that they really need, its just a change in perception. most of the cutters i know are actually seriously depressed and could probly use some professional help. if i could turn back time then i would try have tried to get help myself. idk, different people different situations and all. idk....

Thank you Ciao you are very right indeed Goth IS more or less a state of mind and not a freaking style of clothing and shit i mean yes SOME "goths" do cut but they didnt become "goth" BY cutting.

hate is a waste of time also. plus, why does it matter what other people think, that in itself is a waste of time because no matter how hard you try, you cant please everyone. i dont hate you, its more like pity, i like being able to look on the dark side, even if it is a little bit darker than some....
but some of my friends told me that i was the biggest innergoth they had ever seen. they know NOTHING about my poetry or this site or this thread. i was dumbfounded...

Being depressed is a waste of time? I snicker at the notion of it!

It is inevitable you will be depressed. It's part of life. You MUST look at the dark side of life at times. Living any other way makes you oblivious to the reality of the world. Life isn't all perks and happies. Everyone has their low moments. I agree with Luke. I do have some pity for you if you can't see the bad parts of life.

Gothic people are not depressed all the time. Stop saying that.

That is true, but I hope that's not the only thing some get from this. Enjoy life while you can, but still acknowledge death. When someone dies, don't hold onto that forever. It won't change anything.

disposableteen, i think that a lot of people have emotions they hide from the world, whole personalities even. like me and your friend. well, a couple of my closer friends realize/suspect that i have a darker personality than i let on, but most people are completely oblivious. its kinda funny in an ironic way. peace out. -Luke
