Can I ask why you actually want to go on a diet in the first place? Are you overweight? Or just want to because you hope to lose a couple pounds?

Whatever the reason, make sure you do it in a healthy way and make sure you keep getting the right nutrients and fibres your body needs. =]

there's no such thing as a truly good "diet plan" the trick to "dieting" is changing your lifestyle and the only way to do that is watch what you eat, eat less fatty foods, dont cut any specific food out, and get exercise. you have to practice healthy eating and physical habits. its the only way that you can shed pounds in the long run. it takes longer, but i can guarantee when u go on atkins, lose 20 pounds in a snap and then gain 22 back...its going to be a LOT harder to lose the 20 pounds again.

If you hardly eat anything already than how will a diet help? A diet means eating the right foods and if you only eat once a day right now as you said, than you will not be getting much advice...you need to eat healthy at least three times a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and then eat healthy snacks in between, like a carrot stick or celery or something...

Drink lots of water and you also need to eat for nutrients and energy that will be needed to exercise....try walking daily...two to three miles..you burn around 100 calories per mile; or try something else like pilates or yoga or something...they all helped me.

If you keep your mind focused on what you are trying to achieve, it will become a lot easier to do so. Also try walking or exercising at the gym with friends, it makes it a lot more enjoyable than if you were to do it by yourself, and mix up your exercise routines, don't do the same thing over and over again because it will get boring and you more than likely won't stick to it.

    Anyways...good luck.

yeah, please nobody starve themself. that will not help your body, it will mess you up, and its just not good. most likely you'll gain it back or screw up your metabolism and when you get older you're metabolism will really really suck.

^ That is only 1100 calories a day, not nearing enough to keep your body going o nthe proper nutrition it needs, especially if you excercise.

I lost 22 lbs on last summer holiday, but don't think i'm fat i wasn't but i wanted to be like cameron diaz,it don't depend on your diet,it depends on your command to yourself,i didn't do a diet by a dietician and i lost that much so healthy, just don't eat so much sugar, don't eat so saucy, too salty, too fatty and don't eat what includes flour.and eat so much vegetable, fish, fruit, and of course drink so much water, and do it on summer, because you lost 200 calories everyday with sweating..Good luck

If you're only eating one meal a day and you're walking alot, you probably shouldn't be dieting. (But if the meal is really fattening, you might want to change to a healthier choice.)

If you want to lose a couple pounds, then just exercise like Bob and other people said. Join a gym or just do personal exercises each day. It will tone your body and you'll be able to stay at the weight that you want to be at....But if you're thinking about dieting instead, then I agree with your idea to talk to a doctor or a nutritionist so you don't go overboard and starve yourself.

Actually a "good" diet plan would depend on your goal. If it is simply weight loss then it's a simple matter of calculating your BMR(base metabolic rate). Your BMR is the amount of energy you use a day just carrying out the basic functions your body needs to keep it's self alive(eg breathing, heart beat ect). It's calculated as follows: FEMALE 655 + (4.35 x weight (in pounds)) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age)

    MALE BMR = 66 + (6.23 x weight(in pounds)) + (12.7 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in years)

Depending on the individual it various from 70 to 80% of your total calorie needs. Add to your BMR the amount of Kcals you use a day doing things. That can be a little tricky a good rule of thumb if you're not an extermly active person is to multiply your BMR by 1.5. That'll be the amount of Kcals you should consume per day. Start on monday and weigh your self. Then consume the amount of Kcals per day as suggested above for a week. If you don't go up or down then thats your basic Kcal needs. Then it's simply a matter of eating less Kcals then you need a day. It's probably a good idea to not cut your calories intake by any more than -500 a day due to adverse side effects on the body. There are 3500 kcals in a pound of fat (or 7700 in a kg for you Brit folk). So if you cut your intake by 500 cal a day then that would mean you'd lose about a pound a week. However that may not work the first couple weeks for your diet because when a sudden drop in caloric in take occures sometimes the human body perceives it as the onset of starvation so it will componsate by slowing its metabolic rate. A good way to counter this is by adding daily exercise to the diet. That'll speed your metabolism back up. This is the only real way of losing weight any deit that actually works is based on that simple- principal eating less kcals than your body need. Thats the only way to lose weight consume less than your body burns. It doesn't matter wether its fat calories, sugar, carb ect. If you eat less than you burn you'll drop weight.

srry I cant help you on this one I dont agree with diets I think eating healthy and exercising is the best thing to do not limit your intake
