    "Powers from Above"
    by The Angel of Secrets

    You taught the sun to shine,
    You taught the wind to blow.
    You taught the fire to burn,
    and taught the water to flow.

    You taught the clouds to rain.
    You taught the angels to sing,
    You taught the earth to grow.
    and the birds to spread their wing.

    You taught the humans to care,
    you taught them how to talk.
    You taught them how to dance,
    you taught them how to walk.

    You taught us how to feel,
    you taught us how to love.
    People are so ungrateful,
    for the powers from above.

    "He Touched'
    by Tine Delien

    He touched this world
    with his fingers
    with everything he shattered
    and everything he made

    He Spread some love and joy
    some hurt and pain
    some new things and memories
    along that way

    He prepared us for the best
    the better and the worse
    we all loved to save his paradise
    but we weren't to good that day

    He never turned up against us
    He never even scared us
    He could be evil, yes, with purpose
    He never broke a promise

    because he never made any

    this is the spiral going down
    and we all have to save it
    Gods fading dream for life
    His paradise

    My first and probably only religious poem...Enjoy.
    ````````````
    May God Save Us
    The trickery of God,
    The faithlessness of men,
    The trickery of God,
    We have commited a sin.
    May God save us,
    From the disloyal that's of men,
    May God save us,
    For we have commited a sin.
    The trickery of God,
    The sins we created,
    The trickery of God,
    From which we are related.
    A powerful sin,
    Which we should not live,
    The thought of men,
    Yet God still gives.
    God's Gentle Grace
    by Twisted Heart
    She came to this chapel
    just to sit for awhile
    She needed God's comfort
    Wanting his smile
    She sat there so patient
    In a pew at the back
    Willing his presence
    To take up the slack.
    Her heart was so empty
    Her soul lost its shine
    She needed his arms
    To heal her this time.
    No reason had come
    To cause her this pain
    Just every day life
    Was all she could blame.
    She lowered her head
    and softly, she prayed
    That God's gentle hands
    Would heal her today.
    And suddenly it happened
    She felt better inside
    No longer feeling
    The need to just hide.
    She raised up her head
    With a smile on her face
    And humbly accepted
    God's gentle Grace.
    Respect for the holly
    by Ilinca Milosan
    You say I have no respect for God if I do that
    Dress up all dark and with my nails black,
    But do you respect God when in church you gossip blind?
    Do you respect Him when you swear and talk unkind?
    Is that respect? To betray and lie,
    To hurt people and make them suffer and cry?
    Do you respect Him when other's need you ignore,
    When you judge people, when you hate and abhor?
    If you got to church you'll cry when see
    People pretending, oh God, it's a tragedy!
    Raise your eyes and look at the sky
    Hear them sing, the angels cry,
    Catch the feathers of their broken wings,
    Your ignorance only suffering brings....
    Hope you like it ^^
    God-My Savior
    by ♥ Miss Ciao
    When everything goes wrong
    You're the only thing right
    When the darkness consumes me
    You are the shining light
    When the world's full of hate
    You're the only one with love
    When I have fallen down
    I look for your guidance above
    When times of trouble come to me
    You're there with a helping hand
    When I'm confused and puzzled
    You help me to understand
    When I get down on myself
    You help to pick me up
    When I'm down on my luck
    You lend me your cup
    With whispered words of wisdom
    And a lending hand of two
    You guide us along
    And keep our faith true
    View from Heaven
    by Holy Hellcat
    An angel standing on a cloud
    looks out upon the Earth
    "Why are the people crying?"
    he asks the Lord
    and He replied with nothing more than a subtle sigh
    another angel, passing by
    with a question in mind
    "Why can't we show them what happens to the dead?"
    but the Lord simply nods with a pious smile
    finally, a third angel, the Angel of Death, enters with a question,
    as he adds another name to his list:
    "This man was still quite young,
    and his death was not so planned."
    He took his life by his own hands.
    "Now," Death continued, "I ask you, Lord, can he still be saved?"
    the first angel speaks again, asking, "How do I assure his loved ones, if he be damned?"
    the Lord now turned to the angels in earnest,
    He replies with a gesture to the soul standing at His Left
    a soul who made his case for Heaven
    from Hell
    then the first angel asked again:
    "What shall we tell the people?"
    the second angel asks as well:
    "How do we console those who grieve?"
    thus the Lord replied with laughter and applause
    the soul on His Right, who knew him best, translated:
    "His quirky sense of humor...and something else."
    the angels want to know:
    "What?"
    the Lord simply shrugs
    and the soul on His Left sighs
    holding onto a memory in a porcelain tear
    cried for the lost souls
    his brothers
    his friends
    fellow disciples
    souls like him.
    Can it be a poem we already have?
    If not then I understand, if so then here's my entry.
    Thank you.
    Dixie
    God's Gift
    A single mother trying to make it on my own,
    Living a life others don't condone,
    Got away with most the things I did,
    Seemed like more fun if it was something forbid,
    Gave me a reason just to do it again,
    But fate has a way of stepping in,
    Just when you think you can't take no more,
    The devil steps in to settle the score,
    Offering things that seems only right,
    Eternal Hell is his only plight,
    No rhyme to the reason,
    Just a change of the season,
    One foot in front of the other,
    Never knowing one day she'd discover,
    Fate has a way of stepping in,
    Not knowing how to change or where to begin,
    Down on my knees I called upon him,
    Lord, I know what I've done has not been right,
    That was just one battle, Lord, help win the fight,
    Show me the way, Lord, help me achieve,
    Forgive my sins, Lord it is you I receive,
    Lord, help me to make a brand new start,
    Lord, I accept you please come into my heart,
    The Lord answered my prayers when he came into my life,
    He forgave all my sins, relieved my worries and strife,
    But he told me one thing, and this I shall never forget,
    My child do not live your life with regret,
    Live your life if there's no tomorrow,
    No time for pain, grief or sorrow,
    One day in Heaven you shall rejoice,
    But the life you live now it is your choice,
    You can choose to be happy, joyous or glad,
    You can choose to live life and take the good with the bad,
    To you my child I give my unconditional love,
    Only the kind that comes from Heaven above,
    Take with you these things you have learned,
    Teach them to others and Heavens riches you've earned,
    Life's Lessons and Heavens reward,
    All in a days work of our most precious Lord
    kk. it's not my best.
    but, i feel its good enough for this.
    i could do better, but i'm sorta kinda ona writers block thingy.
    i can write, but its defintly not my best. so yeah..
    here's what i got.
    Just A Believer
    By Teria Westerviller.
    Created by his powers.
    Forgiven by his blood.
    Shaken by the truth.
    Carried by the flood.
    Dreams may fade.
    Friends may fall.
    Hope may crash.
    He'll still be my all.
    I want to teach them the word.
    That delivers me everyday.
    To show them how to be saved.
    And, that he'll never go away.
    I want to do it all,
    Add up to him.
    Reach for the sky..
    While out on a limb.
    I want to walk on water.
    Live beside the lions.
    I want to touch the people,
    So, they'll never fall again.
    I want to be just like him...
    And, tears fall..
    As, I realize, I'll never add up..
    To be his all.
    Just a believer.
    Among this world.
    Who listens and obeys
    His unearthly word.
    Dear God,
    I hope this Reaches You...
    By [[[Lauren]]]
    Heavenly Father Above.
    Whats this thing called love?
    Please explain to me, these things i cannot bare..
    How can i feel this way,
    Like i can't make it through the day.
    If you're there why can't you seem to help?
    They say you made us all
    But Then Why have you made us fall
    How could you do this to those you say you love?
    So heavenly father above,
    Show me this thing called love,
    For i have never felt this emotion before..
    Are you who they say?
    Are you able, to change my fate?
    can you alter what i was 'destined' to be?
    Take me away from here,
    Help my thoughts to clear,
    That is only if you truly are what they say.
    Please!
    Show me...
    the truth..
    i can't stand,
    not knowing what to believe..
    Please!
    Show me...
    what is real..
    i must know
    if you are what i perceive, you to be......
    This decision, must be made,
    will you help me through the day?
    or will instead you turn the other cheek, on me...?
    ~~~~~~~
    This is kind of song lyrics. so when its sung it probably sounds different. it was written to the beat/tune/rhythm of an 'actual' song.

    Broken December
    by :♦:Lauren:♦:

    Echoing ever so softly,
    Snow falls to the ground
    whispers, whispers, whispers.
    concealing the lies they surround

    December, my truest love,
    what ever have I done?
    Poor freshly fallen, virgin snow,
    soiled by the crimson blood.

    My lovely, cold, chilling Winter's night.
    I never meant to grant you such pain.
    I know, I knew the events of that night,
    could've happened during a night of rain.

    Freshly fallen, now pure red snow
    I regret what I have done to you,
    I would give anything I never had
    to bleach back your sparkling hue

    Now I sit, forever locked indoors,
    Never to feel your frigid wind
    I've broken you, my lovely December..
    I've killed you with one wretched sin

    Sitting by the open fire
    Yet forever chilled to the bone.
    December, my only love,
    Death is now what I condone

    lauren your poem intrigued me I know u said u would not explain but I would love to discuss it more u may email me, playboybunny40dd@yahoo.com

    It sounds as if it is written from a point of view of someone who has murdered someone and is locked away in prison now. The fire I believe stands for hell. This interpurtation maybe incorrect and I would enjoy discussing it with u

  • Lauren Waszkiewicz
    17 years ago

    That is basicly correct. December sort of stands for faith and such. but the way i had written it was that they had killed themselves, but i guess they could have killed someone else. indoors does not represent prison though since they killed themselves. they are in hell, because they killed themselves they couldnt be forgiven, but the fire doesn't touch them. because the do feel sorry for what they had done. basicly they got away with it, but it still haunts them.. if that makes sense.

    Xx Ray Of Light (Etheree) xX

    Night
    Is when
    The darkness
    Is the ruler
    You're at its mercy
    It has the advantage
    Cos you can't see, you're helpless
    Blind to what may be happening
    You have no clue of where you'll end up
    The darkness of the shadows engulf you

    However a ray of light can save you
    A simple spark can light up your life
    It will penetrate the darkness
    And show you its all okay
    The dark can never win
    Light protects us all
    It keeps is safe
    Forever

    Ok, I narrowed it down to three: Sinful Souls, He Did it all for You, and....

    Antichrist

    Sitting in a church pew
    Sketching figures of you
    Jesus nailed to his cross
    My words at a loss
    As the priest walks by
    We share a quiet eye
    I know the time is now
    I must run somehow
    Glancing at the backdoor
    The path across the floor
    A boy watches me
    How much did he see?
    He taps the black book
    I gasp as I look
    His bible open wide
    Resting on his side
    A smirk upon his face
    Pages with no trace
    Of ink, an empty space
    And the nuns turn
    Their naked eyes burn
    Breathing garnet fire
    As they hush the choir
    And accusations fall
    Mouths open in appall
    Then my heart stops
    The sketch drops
    Eyes fall to the sheet
    Horror in each seat
    As the boy raises a hand
    Ordering one command
    'The antichrist,' he mouths
    'Worshipper of golden cows'
    'Sacrifice her worthless life'

    ...and I never felt the knife

    Sinful Souls

    Crisp winter air fills their swollen nostrils
    The wind beats against each throbbing chest
    Faces frozen, lips numb and blue

    Snow swirls with the dancing souls
    Frosty mountain tops tremble in unrest
    Ice gathers in every indulgence worn shoe

    In a nearby church, the bell tolls
    And the cold-bitten eyes turn west
    Gazing upon the cross, icicles form an eerie hue

    The pews filled up with eager-faithed pupils
    Livid spirits chilled and hard-pressed
    Awaiting answers and forgiveness, anew

    Glaring down from safe haven; gargoyles
    Tolerantly waiting, stone and statuesque
    For the night comes, guardians of true

    Wings folded, lingering without pulse
    Shadows whisper, releasing the grotesque
    The silent night falls, exposed to construe

    Living souls full of sin--breathing trolls
    Hidden behind church walls, unblessed
    What would become? If only they knew...

    Eyes of shame stare into their bowls
    The beating of wings thrums a faithful test
    Wicked ears capture not but sloshing stew

    A glimpse of one creature, and He mulls
    What has become of this fateful quest?
    Traitorous followers, falseness through

    God

    His love is amazing,
    Neverending, everlasting
    More colorful than
    The sun when it's setting

    His touch is gentle,
    Softer than the wind
    More caring than a mother
    Reaching out to you

    His forgiveness is a cradle
    Of kindness and compassion
    For those that need redemption
    His he is their redeemer

    He watches when you're sleeping,
    Comes along when you are leaving
    Gives what you are needing
    And has no trouble remembering

    He has been to every birthday,
    Heard every conversation
    Witnessed funerals and weddings
    No matter what location

    He is here when you need him
    And when you forget
    With him, you are forgiven
    And there are no regrets

    He's a parent to the orphans,
    A love to those unwanted,
    A sheperd to his stray sheep
    A light to all that's daunted

    If you need a friend, and you are scared
    You don't think anyone can understand
    He'll be there
    Just to hear you... because

    He has been to every birthday,
    Heard every conversation
    Witnessed funerals and weddings
    No matter what location

    He loves you past eternity,
    Will always be there,
    Loves all the unwanted
    And lets you know he cares

    So what are you waiting for?
    Go ahead, drop a line
    He's up in heaven, waiting
    And he'd love to take the time

    ~God~

    "Church of Doubt"

    In this hollow dwelling I tremble
    As the pieces of me disassemble
    A hanging crucifix reminds me cruelly
    Of the cross I bear within me
    The ancient words in a distant time
    Linger in an echo in my mind
    A wrinkled face on a wooden pew
    Points a finger, accusing me of my truth
    This scorching guilt that burns and sears
    Is nothing compared to the overpowering fear
    Frightened because I don't want to resist
    But More deathly afraid of what many not exist
    Condemning eyes await me with a cold hand
    Freezing me, I am unable to stand
    Yet somehow, mystically I am pulled up
    Forced to face the figure awaiting with mocking love
    Taking a quick breath, unsure to let it out
    What to say, to lie? To unleash my doubt
    But I must confess my soul and go on
    I pray--how ironic--this won't take long
    I gather my unkempt words
    Wondering where to begin
    I commence with something like
    "Father I have sinned."

    i think this works:

    Heaven or Hell?
    By; Poonam

    Where do we belong?
    in the bleached sweetness of heaven
    or the dark gut wrenching pain of hell?
    God? Have you foresaken us?
    are we made by the almighty
    or do we have the devil's mark.

    destined to crouch in the dark,
    never to feel the the sun on your arms
    or the rainbows dance in the sky
    never to grow old,
    to feel neverending energy
    an older mind in a youth's body
    destined to feed on the
    sweet infatuating nectar
    of the unknowning mortal
    for all of eternity.

    churches do not stop us, the garlic
    and the stakes rendered pointless
    the sunny morning or fire can send
    our souls to whatever end.

    But to whom would we go
    if the world finally ended
    and the endless corpes on which
    we feed to live each night
    who will claim us.
    demon or dark angel
    to heaven or to burn in hell

    Angel's Alibi

    When the snake gave Eve the apple the angel claims he was no where near the Garden of Eden. He was in Heaven visiting his mother he swears it to be true, but we know better.

    When people turn thier hearts away from the lord the angel says, "It wasn't me", but we know better.

    When people are greedy and cruel to one another the angel says, "I wasn't there, I was visiting my mother". We know this to be false.

    The day God cast him out the angel stuck to his alibi. He was with his mother he swears to it, but we know better.

    Every time evil is amis the angel has his alibi.

    Oh Lord, If you cared.

    Oh Lord, put a stop to this confusion
    Bring back the sight to all those blind
    Give life to those who lost their souls
    Plant seeds of hope into my mind

    Show me you really care about us
    Turn your world right side up once more
    And prove to me you have the power
    To stop the hardships, wars and gore

    I know this is a test of faith, I've heard
    And we should all be patient in life
    But I'm sick; I'm sick and tired of
    Of all this pain and thriving strife

    I want from you one good reason
    One point for me to sit around
    When agony bleeds deep in my soul
    And death seems so profound

    It seems I can't find the answers
    Where is peace and where are you
    If I were able to understand that much
    I would believe my faith is true

    But now this candle keeps dimming
    And this light is moving low
    God, give me the push I need to believe in you
    Because I know you're there, I know
