Blinded By Love

Last night as we lay in my bed in each other's arms,
I realized how happy I was, and how safe I am from harm.
Our noses touch as we gazed into each other's eyes,
Then you said something that caught me by surprise.

You said to me, I want to wake up next to you everyday,
Marry you, and be together until our hair is old and gray.
I really do love you, and think you're the one for me,
I think that you and I are seriously meant to be.

We kissed as I smiled in pure happiness,
With those words I lost all doubt and stress.
I confessed I had felt the same (and that is true)
So I replied, I really do love you too!

We kissed some more, as a single tear formed in my eye,
He didn't see it, but I was so happy I could cry.
Just when I thought he couldn't get any more sweet,
He said something to me that truly swept me off my feet.

I want to fall asleep with you in my arms forever,
I think that we truly do belong together.
Last night I had a dream of our wedding day,
Sweetie I love you, so come whatever may.

I fell into your arms; I couldn't help but smile,
I haven't been this happy in a very long while.
Never imagined I'd find made for just me from above,
But I've fallen for you; I'm blinded by love.

A Forever Love

These last 5 months have gone by fast,
but my love for you will forever last.
The way I feel, I cannot say,
even though I feel it every day.
My heart is set on your pretty face,
It keeps me alive in this haunted place.
My feelings for you run far, vast, and deep,
a day without your beautiful smile makes me weep.
I sit here now as the days roll by,
thinking back and wondering why.
That I didn't tell you from the start,
when you said hello, you stole my heart.
Don't want it back I just want you,
to come back to me, my love is true.
I want to know if you love me,
if you do then I will guarantee.
That I wont love anyone ever again,
cause our love will last until the end.

My Confession

I'll tell you of my secret confessions,
Of all my lies and imperfections.
I'll tell you of all the love to display,
For the hungry soul has much to say.

I'll start out with a simple question
To begin my tale of confessions.
Have you ever felt a love that grew
You know you will never love anew?

The screaming does not protest,
Against a simple soft caress.
A small hidden truth is this:
I fell in love by a gentle kiss.

True love can never be explained;
It can tell a story but never be named.
My tale ends with a final confession:

"Creating Memories"

I stood by the sea
Felt the mist-filled breeze on my face
The tide washed over my bare feet
As my soul your arms embraced.

The sand remembered each of our steps
As we walked hand-in-hand;
The moon setting softly on our skin
As the night captured our hearts in a blend.

And as I look into your icy eyes
They melt with the tears you cry
And they silently promise,
"I'll never leave your side."

My fingers are tangled in yours
and my mind enveloped by your care...
If the whole world crumbled down
God, himself, would us spare.

So let us never this moment forget
Never let it escape our minds
Rather as we leave here tonight
We shall anticipate the next time...
we create another memory.

I'm not sure if this counts, but it's the love poem that i like best out of anything i've written.

"Don't Forget"

Oh how great life can be!
The least expected things,
Finding someone you can love,
The best part of being human beings.

What If we could not feel this thing?
If we could not feel the joy,
If we could not feel the pain of love?
Would not life then be a ploy?

A waste of time, a game, a joke,
No point in seeing it through?
To have loved and lost is painful, yes.
But the saying's no less true.

Do the heartache of the fights,
And the pain felt at the end,
Make the good times you have felt
Seem any less of a god send?

Think before you answer,
And think now very hard.
If you could take it all away,
Would you take away the scars?

Now with the scars your heart has grown,
I want you to remember what you gained.
Remember sitting on her porch,
Or kissing her in the rain.

Remember the warmth that you shared
And walking in the park
Remember the look she gave only you
And things done in the dark.

How perfect things felt when you held her close.
How you missed her when she was gone,
How you loved the smell of her hair,
And how her will could be so strong.

That subtle way she flirted,
That only you could see,
And then how out of nowhere
She would kiss you openly.

How great she was, how you would brag,
How proud you were that she was your girl,
How even if you bickered, and fought
You'd still give her your whole world.

How she looked, and how she moved,
How she smiled, and smelt,
The way she said I love you,
That would make the most frozen heart melt.

Think back, think back, and remember all,
Don't let any memories escape,
Look at them and tell me now,
Was the love you had not great?

Parted though you may be now,
And gone as she may be,
Does your heart not gain a smile
As you review your memories?

I think it does, and I think you know,
That given the choice to forget,
You would hold on dear with all your might,
And chose to remember your regrets.

It was a beautiful poem, with a very good ending! I loved the ending!

2nd goes to ♣ Lucky ♣!!!! Your poem was perfect in repetition and sweet stanzas. It just put a smile on my face and was sooo heartfelt!

3rd is a tie between Becca and Midnight Sun! Each of yours were good for different reasons. I enjoyed the simplicity of yours Becca. Midnight Sun, I loved your expressions of the beach and how they perfectly intertwined with thoughts of love.

Also, I wanted to mention the poem "Don't Forget" It was beautiful and heart touching. It truly stated that you never would take back love. It was outstanding in that!
