hi people

im new and really like reading poems but when it comes to my turn for writing poems i dont really know where to start? what do i do?

welcome to the club laura! my name is Ciao. I have been on here for over two years and have 148 poems as of Jan. 20.

As with writing poems, the best way to start is to think about what you want in your poem. Make a list, envision a title, and just fill in words. Poems don't have to rhyme and you can write whatever you want. That's why there are so many styles and types. If you need inspiration, try listening to music or reading other people's work. I also enter a lot of the contests that have titles and I work off that.
