I guess I'm emo. I used to cut myself, and once had thoughts of suicide...but that was last year. Does that count?

wheyyyyy I'm fed with a roof over my head I barely ask for anything but I get things anyway I'm pretty much happy and when I'm not people are there for me but my e-boyfriend dumped me yesterday and now all I do is sit at home wishing I was dead making pathetic little marks on my wrist. I'm EMO.

Nobody can actually BE a genre of music, and maybe some retards actually have made it into a so-called type of human being, but it doesn't MATTER. People who stereotype themselves and have an aspiration to BE emo are PATHETIC. If you call yourself emo, you're ridiculous. Basically, we're either 'proud' to be it or 'scared' of being it. Every single human on this world is emotional, and maybe eyeliner and blusher masked freaks who don't believe in dressing normally and have grease slicked hair stapled to one eye think they look good, well they don't, but why should you care?
Who CARES if someone thinks you're emo? Emo is short for EMOTIONAL, and yes, you are emotional.
People who THINK they are "emo" are thick, and if you think you're emo, then you're in that category too. I'm not judging you completely, I'm just judging you on the factor you think you're something you can't be. And I like how they all have the nerve to say they're unique when they're following a quite clearly overused, cliche fashion, SO! Stop making threads about emo, cause they're stupid. Just like emo.

If you go around telling people you cut, then you most likely are doing it for attention. ( Not in all cases ) But why would you be proud of being a cutter? It's unhealthy. Unless, you just don't care at all who knows. In that case, ok. But why do some people ( not all ) just go around saying, "Yes, I cut myself", to random people. Wouldn't cutting be something you keep to yourself? This is my opinion and I could be wrong.

Well, some people cut because when they do their attention or pain is shifted to something else besides what they were depress about, but there are people who do it just for the attention. This is only my opinion though.

ok, Emo is short for emotional, wtf you can't be just depressed to be emotional, anger is emotion, hate, happiness. therefore everyone is emo, just because you cut your self doesn't mean you emo it means you
A) have a serious problem in your life which causes a depression and to make yourself happy you cut yourself to release endorfins to make yourself happy for awhile

or!
B) Have a serious attention problem in which you make up fake problems and do it for attention

if you cut that doesn't make you emo, but you can be emo and cut. anyways I'm more of a Punk a real punk not fallout boy punk, dead kennedys punk like 80s punk. yes we aren't dead and theres still lots of us left.

Being ''Emo'' is not being an idiot that self mutilates.
Being ''Emo'' is being a follower of a certian music genre. Or any form of sub culture from that said music genre.
But eh? Some people don't think and sadly label themselves.
I've always thought labels are pure idiocy and there is no reason for them. Be the moron you want to be don't need a label for it :)

so to sum it up every ones saying if you cut yourself or try to kill yourself you are emo.
so i will state the facts and my opinion

1) emos think it's cool and do it for attention
2)emos give bad names to people who actually need help because they don't try to kill themselves for attention. but because they have had enough of life. because of all the labels and discrimination they don't wanna live anymore, they feel like outcasts. these people are depressed not emo.
some of my friends think it's cool and show it off and call it artwork and go on about how much they wish they were dead, and how they hate their parents, but when it comes to it they realise they have so much to live for.
and people go on about how bad the planet is and the enviroment and that crap, so i'll get this straight
