Poems are made up of peoples feeling thougts you can be talking about love and then talking about food lol... try to combine them you can make one good poem. With poetry you have to experiement with then ...no poems are bad...they are how you feel

I usually change my ideas at least twice in every poems I write, accidentally. I think different ideas and going off course keeps poetry interesting.

Hehehe i had the exact same problem, i ended up splitting my long poems into three different poems lol. how about writing it in short stanzas to begin with and after each remind yourself of what it is you are writing about? then if it still makes sense join it together to make one sensible poem? xxx
