Constructive criticism, NOT insults

So I wrote a poem, from the depths of my heart, and although it was different and simple, it meant a lot to me. Constructive criticism is something that I more than welcome. What i DO NOT appreciate is someone telling me my work was "horrid and deserved a 1". If that is your opinion, that's fine, but poetry is subjective and for someone, aka David Wallace, to put down a poem like that is rude. Instead of telling me ways to improve it, I was flagrantly shot down. Not appreciated Mr. Wallace.

ok well thank you for your advice, I appreciate it. Although, I think that people should be aware that calling a poem "horrid" and thinking its constructive criticism is disrespectful. I get plenty of constructive critiques that make me think and better my style and that I appreciate. I don't appreciate tactlessness and ignorance.

For so long I have wanted to post this as a response to some of the genuinely bad poetry I've read on here:

    "3 monkeys. 10 minutes."

Does anyone know what I'm on about?

Ed, it is a spin on the 1000 monkeys concept...

I had a comment on one of my poems [that was one of the monthly winners] saying...

This poem sucks...really...i need to kill you... it was from Masked Senses... I didn't know whether to laugh or be miffed about it but decided laughing was the best thing. that's why I haven't complained... whenever I need a giggle I go and read it :S everybody are entitled to their own opinions, and yeah constructive critisism is the best but those who don't aren't intelligent enough to... you have to forgive them and move on hehe
