Free choice shouldn't be illegal, as long as it doesn't harm anyone else.

Bottom line, what right does anyone have to say what another adult puts in or on their body?

Keep it illegal. It therefore avoids taxation and irrelevant exposure to the horrors of the advertising industry. I gave up smoking weed some time ago, which has worked out great for everyone that likes me permanently angry, drinking every weekend, and relentlessly opinionated.

i think it should be legalized & alcohol should be illegalized. i know a whole lot of people will disagree with me. how many timeshave you heard of a family being killed by a pothead-driver. to my knowledge there isn't much call for MACS(Mothers Against Cannabis Smokers). Just my opnion.

As far as I'm concerned, cannabis is legal! It's a plant that grows from our mother earth and NO ONE is ever going tell me that I can't use a plant if I so choose...

Actually they CAN tell you... It's called "law".

But what I like about laws is the common belief in society that they are there to be broken, and very often are simply statements of the current ruling body, and therefore exempt from individual morality when they concern things that aren't really specific to society as a whole. E.g. I wouldn't ignore a law about killing people, because I think it's fair to say that society would irretrievably break down if we legalised that. But I would smoke pot in moderation and at leisure if I thought doing so WOULDN'T cause society to collapse.

Did anyone actually listen to Bill?

To each his own. It's not a bad drug, in my opinion. There are many worse. I think it depends on how mature you are. It is the one drug that I think should be legal.

Random note: I keep reading this title as "Should Cannibals be legalized." It's kind of disturbing.

    Carry on.

    p.s. I think that no, in fact, they shouldn't. ; )

Curiously, I read your comment: 'Random note: I keep reading this title as "Should Cannibals be legalized." It's kind of disturbing.' as 'Random note: I keep reading this title as "Should Cannabis be legalized." It's kind of disturbing.' and got a bit confused. But then I've had a very stressful afternoon and evening and have as a result consumed a large amount of Scotland's Finest in a short period of time.

    It's a fake bullcrap argument.

We all get puzzled up taking about what the government wants us to talk about with this issue and we forget the essential truth of the matter.

Does it cause memory loss? Does it lead to harder drugs? Does it fuel crime...etc etc.

Start it where it starts, my body, my business.

    And what Bill Hicks said.

And for the record: the most common "lead-in" drugs?

    Cigarettes and alcohol.

Ok, now for something that DOESN'T have to do with cannibals...:

I think the big thing that must be determined is whether the fact that an individual uses drgus infringes upon the rights of others. Your body, your rights.... until your actions take away someone else's rights. If a drugged-up heroin user kills somebody while enjoying "their right," or a meth user blows up the house of their family while producing "their right," then those are times where I think, really, they shouldn't have that right anymore. So yes, you shouldn't be able to force someone to do something "for their own good," but you can force them to not do something, for the good of others.

hey all with it legal it would be taxed that would make the government more money. It is suppose to be a excellent pain killer and u know it could be a diet aid for those who dont eat causes of the munchy effect u know.

the only reason it is ellegalized is because it can cause harm to your own body and to others. It does cause memory loss, and anyone here who has done it knows what I'm talking about. And i know of many times when people were high and accidently shot someone or burnt a house down. It's illegal for society's safety. But the taxing thing would be good. If it was legal and the government taxed it then we might go out of debt! haha

weed is only bad because of smoking it. you can get weed lollipops, weed strips from the THC oils that dissolve like the lysterine ones.. from personal experience weed has no effect on my memory. I'll get high and read, become more intensely connected to the story and emotions. It heightens your awareness; the more you smoke over time, the more the synapses fire to cannabinoid receptors. you're using a different part of your brain, experiencing a different reality, basically. i think it's human nature to wanna alter consciousness -- to use your brain.

    it should be decriminalized
