help me plz, i don't know what to do

Ok first I'll say that I'm bisexual so if anyone has anything against gay people, please don't post because I know there are plenty of haters out there.

Anyways. I have a girlfriend. We've been going out for more than 10 months and everything seemed great. She was brought up in a very religious family and believes strongly in everything, including that if you're gay you will go to hell no matter what.

The other day she told me that she's been having nightmares lately that relate to her being gay and going to hell. She told me it's eating away at her and she doesn't know what to do.

Now, the way I see it is that the bible says you're not supposed to judge. It says that God will forgive your sins if you ask him to. In reality, shouldn't being homosexual be considered just another sin, just as bad as lying or stealing? Shouldn't God be able to forgive that sin too?

My mom told me that God wouldn't create people he hates, so why is it that everyone says God hates gay people? I read something in my book the other day where a gay guy was talking to someone else and he said, "I think God cares more about how you treat others than who you sleep with."

I'd really appreciate it if anyone had any advice for me. I don't know what to do to make my girlfriend feel better about all of this. I know she loves me with all of her heart, but I also know that all the religious stuff is affecting her a lot.

Help! What do I do???

I don't know how to help seeing as I'm not a very religious person (only go to church a few times a year), but I've always wondered why God would punish good people. In my opinion all that truley matters is how you treat others while alive.

I know that the bible is very contradicting and maybe if she talks to a more liberal member of her church about the issue they can show her passages that don't necessarily agree with the whole homosexuality = hell belief she currently has.

First of all, you are right. Homosexuality is a sin like the others and God is more than willing and ready to forgive you if you turn to Him. He'll never turn you away. He loves you and everyone very much and is always merciful. God definately does not hate gay people, or any person for that matter. As for the quote, God does care who we sleep with, because He wants the best for us. Gay or straight, He doesn't want anybody to just sleep around or with someone that they shouldn't, because of all the heartbreaks and possible deseases that come along with that (most times). Know what I mean? Just know that God loves you, no matter who you are. I don't know about anybody else, but that fact alone sure has changed my life :)
