Inner Beauty

They say she is ugly
They almost got her believing
when she looks in the mirror
They didn't take
the time to know her
They don't see her sweet heart
and the marks they left behind
They unknowingly skip her beauty
for they wouldn't look
on the inside
With each day that goes by
She slowly becomes
what they say she is
as her heart grows cold
and scarred by their words
They forgot to look within
where true beauty lies

Swept away

I don’t know what made me wonder
About you all the time
But all I think of is that I love you
And how happy I am that you are mine

This isn’t where the story ends
This is only where it begins
As you sweetly talk to me
Insisting you peel of my skins

A rose is something fragile
Complicated but sweet in different ways
It means love for quite the while
I’d give you thousands to show what it says

Could it be comparable to us?
‘cause that would be indescribable
No more searching, no more fuss
Just being a lifelong us

It must be wonderful
To sit where you are.
I'm like the mere dirt.
You're heaven's stars.

You prance in your Prada,
Dangle Coach from your arm.
I walk in my Wal-Marts
And dangle 2 dollar charms.

Your manicured nails
And highlighted hair
Must have cost plenty
From the way people stare.

That shiny little diamond
And gold 'round your neck
Are enough to take
A whole month worth of checks.

It's not that I hate them.
If I could have them, I might.
It's the way that you flaunt them
Which just isn't right.

All of your possessions
And money could be gone,
Then who would be there
When your life went wrong?

You have no true friends,
Just mall-shopping fiends
Who'd drop you in a second
If you lost that sweet green.

So get off your high horse
Spend life where it counts.
The name that you where
May not always be around.

Arctic Blast

Pools of tears sleep upon my regret
Of the ice age I shall never forget
Of love frozen in past time
Where I nurtured the mossy slime

In which was the love I used to own
Of the man who’s love was like a cyclone
His arctic breath would blow me away
But his firewall would make me stay

My love for him began to turn to dust
But his arctic love would never rust
Id runaway in the night
Only to wake in his grasp and to feel his bite

One kiss upon his greasy lips
Would set in his eyes loves true eclipse
But mine would be frozen from the arctic blast
Of love which only could exist in the past

Why couldn’t he just open his eyes
And hear the voice which never lies
Feel the sorrow of my motionless heart
And decide with his true love he must part

So here I sleep upon the bed of ice
Wishing it to brake off even a small slice
To undo some damage of the past
To save me from another arctic blast

Fallen Angel

The Angel and Mystic
With poems and notes
Crossed patterns and sorrows
With words they each wrote

The twig and the topaz
Of fiber and fire
Burned in their hearts
Lit a funeral pyre

No mercy, lost Angel
The iceberg too steep
Heart torn, the Mystic
In blood snow he weeps

Fallen the Angel
Wanders once more
Searching each grain
As it washes to shore

The Mystic he promised
To meet her again
But billions of echoes
Float through the glen

As emptiness fills her
She makes her descent
Cursed her soul cries
An eternal lament

Kiara - You would have placed in the contest if the poem had not used : Mossy Slime and Greasy Lips. Overall the poem was good but these 2 references took away from the story of love.
