I ran across this quote today and I INSTANTLY thought of the kids on this site. I hope you can read this and get something from it...

Today may seem as though it will never end...and maybe you wish tomorrow would never come but years from now you'll look back and say it wasn't that bad. When I was a teenager I thought I had the worst life a child could possibly have. Now with older eyes I realize that my life was GREAT! I suppose I was hoping to make a difference...for someONE.

Hey, calm down. Athame was just sharing her view. You're both right. People shouldn't overanalize the bad so much, but without it nobody could truly know the good. We can't smile all the time. What a boring world. It is a wonderful quote. I like it. But it's not the only way to live.

I took the quote for what it was. I accept your views, and I do not overanalyze. All that I was pointing out, is that while it is good to smile and laugh they cannot be fully appreciated if they are all there is. Everything has two sides. You cannot tell someone to care only about the good things, for all good comes with bad.

The point of me sharing this was because there are teenagers in here that thrive on negativity. There are teens here who know no happiness...or care not to know happiness. There are teens on this site who LOVE the attention their negative lives get. My thought and isea was to just open something new to someone. If you can see that there is light at the end of the tunnel, then maybe you'll learn how to over come the bad. I have had rough and as a matter of fact...RIGHT NOW my life is a freaking mess. But I've set goals and plans for myself and for me that's my light at the end of the tunnel. I know things are BAD as of now but when I am able to over come a few of these obstacles my life will be good again. I think of the good in my future...rather than pulling a knife out and slashing my wrists.

the world seems to be falling on my sholders ive lost 7 friends and 3 family mambers in the last two years i am at the end of my rope it wont stretch any more although i am NOT suicidal this quote hits that on the head

It's a great thought... that today you may want to commit suicide, but maybe you are on the brink of experiencing the happiest moment of your life, you just have to trust that if you persevere through the darkness that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, that you get out of your depression, and can look back with a smile in many years to come.

The 'bad' makes you strong so you can get to the 'good'

My life isn't all rainbows and butterflies, giggles and smiles.My dad's an alcoholic and hits me sometimes.My mom doesn't care.I use to cut.Most of my depressing poems are based on my life.Just because people get depressed sometimes doesn't mean that they are negative and it sure as hell doesn't mean that they are weak.

A year later and I find myself right back at this thread, haha.

And I still believe what I said is true.

Though it's nice to look atthe up side of everything, you can't forget the down, plus it builds character, haha.
You can choose to smile each day, you can choose to think brightly. You might need help with finding it, but there is always a choice. You always have a chioce. Don't give up.

I agree with Amber[XRazorsXTeaseX]! The bad stuff in life make you strong. I've gone through some pretty tough stuff, but it made me who I am today, and I wouldn't change me for anything.
