is it ok to mix?

this has been on my mind for a WHILE now. ok my boyfriend is black, im white, i could care LESS about the color of your skin, however, my parents on the other hand, do! my mom thinks im only into african american people, which is not true, like i said i dont care what color skin you have, i look for personallity not what color or race you are! so anyways back to my story, yes so my boyfriend and i have been dating off and on for a year, i beleive i love him, and i care about him ALOT. but i mean i know if my dad ever found out, i would risk our relationship, my dad straight up said, i wont talk to you anymore. so im confused, and just upset. i dont want to break up with my boyfriend, im not going to. but i would like to know if you guys thing mixing (black and white) is a bad thing.. please let me know how you feel about this!

I agree with you, it shouldn't matter what race you are, if you love each other, then it really really shouldn't matter!! It almost makes me want to cry when people hate someone based on the color of their skin. If someone where to hate me, I would want it to be because of me, and not because of the color of my skin. It's cruel and it makes me sick. People should just learn to get along.

That is crap. I hate racism, black or white we're all the same. And anyone who see's different needs to open their eyes and SEE.

i dotn think that color should matter when it comes to love but also i think about kids. What if you guys had 2 kids, and one was more balck and one was mroe white. i just think it would be hard on the kids. And also when you mix cultures it takes away from tyhe one you came from, and when you ahev a mixed children then along the line some where if your kid turns out to be white then they still have the black geans(sp) and they could marry a white person adn have a child that is part black. like i said i dont have a prolbem with it cause love is blind, but lets face it society isn't and most of the time the world is cruel when it comes to this. I think that if i was witha guy from another race i would probably adopt children that way they wouldn't have to be picked on or looked down upon.

I'm dating someone for going on 11 months on Feburary 14th who is somewhat black. Black/White. If I ever told my dad he'd kill the guy I'm dating and would prolly kill me too. He believes that blacks n whites are just making mexicans and we don't need to more mexicans here. It's not true. He will not let me be friends with black guys rarely will he let me be friends with a black girl.

It's his situation to handle n not mine. I date who I want, skin color don't matter! I had finally told my momma and she kinda freaked out but I told her skin don't matter. It's what goes on in the heart -n- if you truly love the person. I asked her not to tell my daddy cuz he hates blacks. It's alright to be friends with blacks but he says it's gotta be the same sex before you can be friends. (example: a white girl can only be friends with a black girl, white boy can only be friends with a black boy, in his mind). My momma admitted that she dated someone thats like my boyfriend's Chris's color. So she didn't yell at me.

To me, it don't matter who you go with, its what the person is on the inside and how that person treats you. If your dad finds out and you don't want to lose your dad's relationship with you then you got a dicision to make, either lose your dad's relationship or your boyfriends. Personally if I were you I'd tell your dad something like this " Dad, I know you think it's wrong for white people to date blacks but skin color don't matter anymore. I don't see the big deal to get worked up over it. Just be happy that I have someone that cares." Might not be the best thing to say but you get the idea.

my boyfirend is mix and my parents dont think its a good idea either and i dont want to break up with mine boy either so just follow ur heart and race or anything has nothin to do with relationship.

so heres more about my dad.

he grew up where his parents didnt agree with mixing, and he doesnt like it at all. hes absolutly 100% against it. he says there isnt a thing wrong with being friend with them (but i honestly know.. he HATES the fact that i dont care and thats not what i look for in a friend or a boyfriend!) anyways, he says thats fine if i have them as friends, but thats all, no dating. he knows that i dont care and it bothers him so much, but i honestly dont care and the way i think of it is that if my dad cant respect him for him, minus the color of his skin, then whatever, let him be like that. i hate to say this, but if thats the way he wants to be, fine, he can loose his daughter then.

totally keep following waht you believe but your dad is being totally imature. I hate imature parents and then the kids are mature. Its fun but it seems your the mature one and your parents are either immature and maybe over proctective but if they are they just love you.
