Another Valentine's Day contest for my beloved poets to enter. This one will be a title contest. I plan on closing this tomorrow, but it depends on if the titles get filled or not.

ok i got a question. on this other post..today i wrote a poem saying 'bullet for my valentine' not for my love....is that ok? if not then ok.....jw

who cares- sure i don't mind. i saw a glimpse of that poem. the beginning (the only part i read) was appealing. i wouldn't mind. i got the instpiration from that post anyway.

Bullet for my Valentine

Now I lay me down to eternal sleep,
I pray to god that you will keep-
My valentine safe forever more,
But now I must leave, with a bullet in my core.

As we walked on the beach, his hand in mine,
I dreamt of how we’d be like this for all time.
Suddenly, shots rang out I hit the sand,
And pulled you down with me, still holding hands.

The gunman came into sight, as he aimed at you,
Just as he shot, I knew what I had to do.
I leapt in front, as the bullet hit my chest,
But I know that what I did was best.

The gunman ran away, as I lay bleeding on my love,
‘Never fear sweetie, I’ll see you again above.
Don’t give up hope, you’ll find someone new,
But for now baby, I must leave you.’

With that I died, now I get laid to rest,
Without any guilt or pain in this chest.
I lost my life to the man I called mine,
I took the bullet for my Valentine…

Cupid was always picking on me
And shooting his arrows awry

I was so sick of being under cupids curse
All i wanted was just to be free

But Cupid just wouldn't leave me alone
He kept shooting his troublesome darts

Untill one day on the first of Feb
He had someone new in his sight
He brought me together with Marcus Stott
For the first time he got it right

So now years later on Valentines day
I see how helpful Cupid could be
It was just a game of trial and error
To find the right person for me ©

Aphrodite's Spell

I wish I had said,I wasn't accidentally blinded by you
It wasn't your mistake honey,you weren't to blame
There wasn't love in me before you,no hope to do
It mixed my everything up,the Aphrodite's spell

It takes a worry,gives a little glory to your mind
You don't understand what you do under that thing love
When you got that feeling,nowhere to go nowhere to hide
I had good life before it ruined it completely,the Aphrodite's spell

There was a misunderstood that the words i used
My heart's getting out of my chest when i see him
So hopeless cus it's impossible i get so confused
I can't mean it even if i say by,the Aphrodite's spell

lol i already wrote one, but im just curious..i may sound stupid..but what does smitten mean? lol im not bright, but id like to learn:P

Well. here's the nicer definition of the word (courtesy of Dictionary.com):

to impress favorably; charm; enamor: He was smitten by her charms.

The word was probably used more often like 30ish years ago. I really don't know. But I do remember reading it in books. It always sounded sweet to me.

O well. I'll just judge tonight.
