Hey Guys,
I haven't done a contest in a while and felt like doin' one. So the idea for this one is something soothing. Or relaxing. I wanna read something that just makes me take a deep breath and smile. It doesn't have to be REALLY happy, but I want something maybe romantic or something about nature, or something fantastical. Take me on a journey with this one! Give me the feeling of reading a good book by the fire with a nice hot cup of coffee.
I hope all that makes sense, lol. Just do your best and have fun! Any questions just ask! :)

Fire In A Fireplace

Grasping in tales of forgotten woes,
Memories stand, they tire.
Rest absorbed in belligerent shows,
Sleeping through embers of fire.

Burning so brightly, thusly is Hell,
Moving, jumping, flickering.
Turning woes to calling, trailing songs,
Flames seem to be mocking, bickering.

Promenade within a song to your flames,
Enjoy sweet taste of ashes.
Rest absorbed in belligerent shows,
Warming rooms with flickering lashes.

Houses glow to warm a touching soul,
Moving pictures, fires burn.
Turning woes to calling, trailing songs,
Dancing waves, flickering flames hereby yearn.

Shadows dance through the glade
As they are carried by the wind
But the shadows dance on unafraid
Even though they are stalked by mankind

They take one step forward and two steps back
Making the shadows copy their glee
Even though the shadows are black
They are as peaceful as the sea

Together the two races dance
With movements so enchanting
But when the moon rises the shadows take a chance
As they escape into the night without planning

They form one blanket of shade
With holes wear there is light
Which is the only source which makes them afraid
But when the battle becomes to bright

They escape back to their masters side
Or hide in the corners, not wanting to be found
But at night the shadows return full of pride
As they try to take over light and ground

Spring reveals herself
and lays a blanket of lush green grass,
I say, hi to the birds of harmonic melody
that song reminds me of life

Mother earth points to the dandelions at my feet
and I make it a point to waste my wish
petals of white caress my thighs
singing their song of he loves you, he loves you not

Miss sunshine spots a rainbow in flight
and she smirks at my drowning heart
I say hey, do you even know what it's like
to own the kind of love that no one wants?

Sunny says, how do you intend on growth
if the rain forgets to cleanse your soul
and how do you expect to find that pot of gold
if there are no puddles to follow?

I say, these tears only remind me of my sorrow
and this mud that you call soil
keeps dirtying my soul with impurities,
leaving me with a smudge of imperfections

Sunny says, well it is late and I must set,
but know this, I'll be back tomorrow and the next
so don't shut me out and live in a world of gray
it is I who can chase the darkness away

I whisper under my breath, who does she think she is
with all of her wisdom and good advice,
all I need is someone to sing me a lullaby
and lay me down to sleep tonight

Little Miss Luna reveals herself
and feeds me some of her sparkling light
she says, hush your sweet little heart,
have no fear, for I am here to tuck you in...

Happy Valentine's Day Dear.
How Long it's been since we met.
On this day sixty-two years past,
Yet a day i will never forget.

Reminiscing on the distant past,
Brings crystal tears to my eyes.
Remembering that paper heart,
Seems to always make me cry.

You were such a beauty, perfection it's true.
Hair smooth and silky, the color of fire
Porcelain skin, and deep sapphire eyes
You became the object of my desire.

Average i was, never given even a glance.
Not a Valentine had i received in a long while
But you came over, with a heart in your hand.
and left on my face a permanent smile.

With that paper heart, i was given a chance

When the Light Comes Alive

The light slants through the window,
Illuminating the floor,
But moves away as the curtain flickers,
Now pausing on the wall.

It dances all over my room,
A duet with the breeze,
As soon as the curtain becomes still,
The light itself will freeze.

It becomes brighter as a cloud frees the sun,
I try to shield my eyes.
The light keeps on partying, stronger than before,
Inviting more friends inside.

The whole room is filled with light now,
Every flicker of light is an individual being,
They chose my room to have a disco,
So exhilarating, definitely worth seeing.

I get up and join in,
Dancing, getting to know the light
We are wild, ecstatic all through the day
Until suddenly it is night.

The room is no longer alive,
The wild vibe that was there has fleed.
The curtain is still flapping,
But the light has gone to sleep.

Is That Stardust in Your Eyes

As I sit among the cinders as they sweetly burn
I think of all the dreaming done within this heart that yearns
I catch a spark of glimmer from the passing of the light
And so it makes me wonder if its stardust in your eyes.

Do you see the flames that flicker as the crackle breaks the night
Along the edges of a star thats caught up in the light
A midst the ashes of a fire that brings the umber shine
Like Rubies and the diamonds fair that glitter so devine.

The tiny little dancers are dressed up in red and white
Mixing oh so joyfully with yellow burning bright
The popping of the flames that stir the ashes once again
Has lent a sense of homage like its welcoming a friend.

The umber burns a little flame and give a gentle glow
Along the casing of a dream that singes at the coal
Is it just illusion that the flames resemble flight
Caught inside the stardust that reflects within your eyes

As far as I can tell everyone's poems are in...but I'm gonna leave the goal date as the 28th for me to judge it. That way you won't be dissapointed if it's not ealier and you'll be suprised if it is!
