Hey. You both can have the titles you requested. I really look forward to reading your poems because i know anything done in the name of underoath just has to be awesome! By the way, my computer is being a monster and won't let me add people to the list properly.

    And here it is:

It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door

    I admit.
    I'm never Fuckin good enough.
    "Not Quite". You say.
    And I finally believe you.

    This shattered mirror
    The scars on your soul
    And the broken ending
    Of what was alive

    I walked out that door.
    As Dangerous as it was.
    I never looked back.
I finally grew cold that day.

    That chilled feeling.
    The one that never dissappears.
    Your eyes bleed,
    Watching my retreating back.

    I reminise sometimes.
I wonder if you got what you deserved.
Your sharp tongue struck my heart.
I hope you got the same treatment.

    Casting Such A Thin Shadow.

It's not a feeling you feel within.
Nor, is it something you show amongst
those who've not torn you to shreds.
But, it's something within yourself; hidden.

    For, there are no nightmares.
    Nor, tearful and painful nights.
    No brokenhearts or sliced wrists..
No faded dreams or needed cares.

Just emptiness filling your cold, dark heart.
No friends to help, or family to lean on.
No one to chase, or to love.
No frigtened gestures to tear you apart.

    There's a piece wanting out,
    And a piece wanting in.
    Yet, frozen in place; lost.
Waiting for you to figure it out.

For the lies build up within,
upon the pile of all the truth.
    That causes your body to
grow a lot larger than thin.

    Your heart grows weaker,
    and your mind grows darker.
    Your life grows colder and
    your body a pleasure seeker.

As your world fades out the window,
and your dreams start to disappear.
Your life shatters before you, as your
    casting such a thin shadow.

"Yeeah. Does anyone want in on this contest? I'm thinking about ending it very soon."

^^ Meaning more people can still enter. And also, it said deadline was March 21st or whenever the titles are all taken, which they aren't yet..

  • ephemera

No, the song title doesn't have to be included in the poem at all. But it really doesn't matter.

Tear drops shatter on an old guitar,
    As she sits -- looking up to the stars;
Strumming her fingers across each string,
Praying to be the next big thing.

And she sings a gentle tune out loud,
Knowing that somewhere, she's making him proud,
And the golden stars are shining bright tonight,
'Cause they know she's not giving up without a fight.

As she looks to her reflection in the moonlight,
She sees herself standing under the spotlight,
The crowd goes quiet as she starts to sing,
And he smiles down on her, so young and aspiring.
