    Valentine Lake

I dreamt the night, I dreamt the night,
In amber tones bathed with lilac light,
With softened cries, my breath is still,
I dreamt the night on tomorrow’s hill,

I dreamt the touch, I dreamt the touch,
His hand in mine, interlocked as such,
His hair wheat soft, tucked in my hold,
I dreamt the night in fields of marigold,

I dreamt the sight, I dreamt the sight,
Our heartbeats match in our goodnight,
His breath on me, his eyes droop closed,
I dreamt the night, my thoughts exposed,

I dreamt the night, I dreamt the night,
The rarest form of love’s guiding light,
Our formal bond, child I shall not break,
I dreamt the night, on Valentine lake,

Our formal bond, child I shall not break,
My baby I’ll rock you on Valentine lake.

    Valentine’s Day – Remembering

The yearning awakened, a hunger renewed,
Desire long buried with trappings of youth,
When dreams were as real as the dawn’s rising sun,
Adventures each day, never walked, always run.

Mem’ries rekindled of hand holding hand,
Tendered with smiles as we walked in the sand.
Sharing our wishes and stories, we’d plan,
Knowing forever was our promised land.

The lyrics of truth were soon lost in the din
Of playing for others so I would to fit in.
The passion now buried, the joy thrives no more,
I toil to please masters, now, my daily chore.

But one day a year, I welcome the pain,
Force open the vault to hope buried in vain.
Believe, for one moment, that I can go back
To follow my heart, instead of the pack.

    Valentine's Prayer

    O' thine perilous heart
    make prayer unto St. Valentine
    to be pierced once again
from the shaft of cupid's arrow
    may thy aim be true
    and thou journey swift

    her scent lingers
    within delicious dreams
    but thou hath evaded me
    hiding admist the mass
    bring her unto me
    for this Valentine's gift....
