Pessimism vs. Optimism

By looking at the negative side, you look forward to nothing. When the positive side is the outcome, you are overjoyed. When the latter happens*, there is no disappointment (to some degree) because you managed* to convince yourself you were expecting that to happen anyway (although technically all outer-pessimists are, deep inside, secret optimists hoping that good happens but showing the pessimism as to not show hope or emotions.)

exactly why linkin' park has a song called Numb... some people really feel that emotion is a weakness. That is why people bury things inside or write it down. They need to let it out, but they feel they must show it personally not publically.

Which is a form of pessimism, convincing yourself that no one can help you.
Most people with REAL problems seem to be optimistic, and people with minor problems seem to be pessimistic. I don't think it is a genetic problem, but moreso a quality that is grown as the person grows and develops.

I, myself, don't ask for help. Even when i am sick, i do my best not to complain.

True, just like i hate it when ugly people on "MTV's Made" end up more beautiful than me after i had just been so happy they looked uglier than me (SOOO selfish lmao but it's the honest truth)

I believe we react to a situation differently, using whatever seems appropriate.
Although, some people force them selves to be optimistic or pessimistic due to wanting to fit in or be able to be labled as things like: Macho or Emo. They'd rather bear a universal label rather than nothing at all....

And never mind, it's 1:17, not 12:57 that i have to leave so i got like, 30 min lmao!

*A label forces you to think and feel so many ways. I much prefer no label at all. Only then are you truly yourself.*

then again, if you try to avoid being labeled for the sake of being unique, wouldn't that be straying from the possibility that you just may orignially have been one of those labels at ease, and not being that is pretending to be someone you aren't, being artificial.
(which reminds me to post a thread about artificial intelligence under Other)

I do too, and i gossip. People, particularly my parents, say i try to fit into the "gay" category. Problem with them is that i was always in the closet from day one they adopted me, and they don't know that this is whoi really am.
It is important to be true to yourself, but how does this link to pessimism, optimism, and narcissim again? i think i'm getting a little lost. lmfao.

    o yea... lmfao.
Well, it's hard, because every minute i feel differently. (Which is where mental disorders, such as Borderline-personality disorder [which is interesting, and i suggest you do some research on it] and Bipolar-Disorder come into view)
You aren't in total control of your perspective when you have a disorder, but you can control how you deal with it.

Realism is the best. Be possitive about the good things. Negative about the bad things. If you are always optimistic about everything, you are blind and naive. But if you are pessimistic about everything, you have been living with your eyes closed (for example, how can you be pessimistic when you see the beautiful colours of the flowers and the sky during sunrise/sunset, hear the birds chirping, smell your favourite scent?)
