Should the past matter?

What do you guys think? Should what a partner did in a relationship in the past matter now, even when you are the happiest couple around? I know something of my past that my boyfriend would be very upset about if he knew. Hypothetically, he would leave a girl if he was to know my mistakes...why should the past matter? Mistakes are mistakes, ancient history...is well, history and it is there to make us stronger and help us learn. If no one is forgiving in the world about our pasts...then how will anyone ever be happy? Ughhhhhhhhh I don't know. Just a vent. Heh...I even forgot what my original question was. =/

Mistakes are also to be learned from. The past is the past, it's over, but it shouldn't always be ignored.

If he loves you, he's going to have to just learn to accept it. He may not like it, but he can't change it. Keep in mind though, some things are harder to forgive than others..

My past is screwed up and i'm actually surprised it didn't throw me off the rails. I've had enough chances to jump.
But Marcus accepts whats in the past is in the past and has basically helped me through the aftershocks of it.
So no, i don't believe your past has anything to do with a new relationship. If you're meant to be, you'll be, regardless of past experiences. I'm living proof of that. =)

The past matters because not everyone learns from their mistakes.

And if you say your boyfriend would be upset about something in your past,he's a got a right to be...like I said, some people never learn from their mistakes.
