how do I get him over his ex?

Okay there's this guy Chris I like him so much and all my friends say that he likes me too.
Well it's actually a fact.
But he told my friend that he's not quite over his ex yet... does that mean he still loves her? Does that mean he isn't actually interested in me?
I've never had this before. I hate my exes!
Is there any way I can get him to take focus off her so he can start truly liking me as much as I like him??

Well talk to him yourself. Hang with him a lot more. Talk to his ex. See if she has any more feelings for him.

Smack him in the face and tell him theres something better be offered.

The way he's been acting I wouldn't have known I wasn't the only one he desired if my friend didn't tell me

I feel like I've already come onto him like crazy and now that I know how he feels I wish that I could take it back and just act normal. However I think he now feels like theres pressure from me or something and he's distancing himself... or he might be.

It may not be that he still likes his ex, but that he had a hard break up with her and is still hurting from it, which generally means, he's not ready to get back in the dating game just yet, cos his feelings are still a bit sore.
Take it slowly and give him some space and time.
Soon his feelings for you will help him heal his hurt ones.
