Love or work

Not sure if you all have had this problem yet but for me love has gotten in the way of school a lot...its a huge distraction at times. Not that i dont have an answer to my own question but was wondering which you all thought took precedence over the other and how much you could devote to one while ignoring the other

Well honestly I'd have to say, a smart individual will know how to balance their Love life with their Work life. Now of course, not everyone is able to do that, and in that case, I believe it is solely up to the individual to decide which is more important to them.

I mean they both have ups and downs...

Love: An individual will not always be able to find true love.

Work/School: You are paying to goto college, and you can't live without working and making money.

So which do you forget about? Which do you cut out? Do you have to cut one totally out of your life Or would it be wise to try and balance them out?

^^all simple questions that people ask themselves. what is the right answer? what is the wrong answer? well as I said above I believe it is solely up to the individual, we all have different opinions on things.

    Ciao, Joe

Oh and yes I'd have to agree with Liz, "I've had this problem for the last couple of months, love has gotten in the way of work/university BIG TIME."

Many thanks to the both of you for your thoughts...encourage others to comment as well...this is really not for me...i know where i stand...it is intended to help those in need

Thats great that you can do that...normally we, those who have commented so far, can as well...but rough times disrupt all as im sure you would agree

I have to say I agree, rough times disrupt everything! But I think that if your significant other really loves you, they'll understand that you need to spend more time at school/work. And as for the concentration problem, just requires a little self discipline, lol, I lack it as well, love is very distracting, lol, but I manage to get my work done, somehow, lmao.
    Much Love,
    Danielle

haha i agree completely. The self control, patience and a little understanding. I manage to get work done but in college if you dont work your butt off 24/7 its worse on your grade than in highschool...as for self discipline...ive always had a little trouble with that one haha.
    Thanks for the thoughts,
    -Jason-

Love all the f ing way, you brainwashed nincumpoops! LOVE. Then again...I never cared much for school or work...when I don't care, I don't do..simple as that. Funny thing is, I'll probably be more successful than you :) I'm just special like that.

I always do homework with my boyfriend. Yes, we're nerds. But we have it down to a good system... we're both working on our own stuff, but we're still around each other, and can take breaks from work to just chat or do something fun.

Ok, let's get a few things straight you blundering, ignorant fools. I put love before school or work, when has that ever meant I am not successful in life? Money? When has that ever meant that I ask others to do the same for me? First of all, thank you for publicly announcing...ugh nevermind Jason. But that could...alright. Fine.

So, let's see...let me prove my point. I was in a relationship essentially all the way through highschool, I think my GPA was never higher than 2.5. I never tried, never did my homework, never participated...aced all the tests however :) I did horribly because school was not a priority for me...I prioritized my personal life, friends, family, horses and love relationships. After graduation, I took a year off. I'm friends with a jockey, so I met up with him one day, went to the racetrack, talked to a racehorse Vet...the next day I was working as a vet. assisstant. My hours were 7am to 3pm, so work did not get in the way of my love life, hobbies, etc...My boyfriend was at school 8am-3pm or later, my horses were eating their lunch around 1pm, etc etc. I was also and still am babysitting my next door neighbor's daughter. She does not get in the way of my priorites, I can go about a regular day, and she just tags right along. All in all, at 17 years old, I was the youngest Vet. Assisstant heard of, making about 3-4 grand a month, baby sitting on top of that...added another couple hundred. Easy money baby! Now, although I did awful in highschool, I was pretty much certain since freshman year, I wanted to attend a horse training college...guess what? Open admission. All that is needed is a highschool diploma. How sweet is that? The college is not too far from home, I'll be driving home most weekends, pursuing my love of horses...in 2 years..I'll be done with school if I so choose to be...I'll be rollin in the bank as a horse trainer, I'm writing a book I plan on getting published (Which doesn't exactly mean $, but one can dream)...I'm not really sure what else to tell you guys. I put love before work/school, but I'm still successful. I don't let school get in the way of my education :D

What more would you like answered?

  • silvershoes

Yes, Liz...for the most part I agree. I was speaking personally however. Love is definitely more important to me...school I consider. Getting a diploma was easy, it didn't really take too much extra brain power although I went to one of the best highschools in the nation...then again, not everyone has my natural genius. The only work I did was IN class, none of that homework nonsense. I still did fine on tests without studying..that's probably why I somehow managed to pass all my classes.

And although many of you may believe from all that I said, that I 'like easy..' but I enjoy a challenge more than most. Sure, I have connections..but I MADE those connections..not my parents or friends or anyone else. I made them and use them to my advantage. If I didn't enjoy a good challenge, I wouldn't own a bunch of crazy Arabians, I wouldn't have trained them myself, I wouldn't have worked at a horse racetrack as the youngest vet. assisstant ever, I wouldn't enter poetry contests, I wouldn't have been MVP ever year on my lacrosse team, I wouldn't debate for hours and hours about philosophy with my friend Jason online, etc etc etc

Darn. And, you're right...I gave you directions on how to cook spaghetti, so that you could make your brother cook for you...obviously you translated the directions terribly into that tiny brain of yours, then delivered the faulty directions to your brother. Next time, LISTEN TO ME, and make your own darn food! Lazy bum...

Yes, I do like chikens Liz. I LOVE CHIKENS!

And, I can make more than cake David. ERGHAISfhaso. I can make cookies too :D

Joe, we're proving that our love for eachother is more important than work, by talking to eachother about nonsense instead of doing something valuable with our time. So technically, indirectly, we're still on topic.

Once again, Please stay on Topic, you are all off topic, if this contiunes I will have no choice but to Lock it.
