"I HATE EMOS!"

Before any of you who had read the title of this message decide to agree and congratulate me on my very bright wording or disagree and bite my head off I'd like to say a few things.

I've heard that sentence too much for comfort. Stereotypes are so out of hand. I can't walk down the street without cars screaming out that I'm a filthy goth and to get off of the streets. It makes me feel dirty, unwanted, wrong and under appreciated.

If you EVER call someone any name or discriminate someone just rmeember that we have souls and the next person to bully myself or anyone I will punch your lights out and you shall burn in hell.

I hope you feel guilt from this because then it shows you have some kind of heart.

If you have a heart say sorry, not to me, but to these people you have put burden on. It's never too late.

Thank you for reading this very important subject.

Now I must say, you are a person. And you stereotype people too. Almost everyone does. So please don't act like you're so much better. Almost everyone has been stereotyped against or stereotyped someone else. It really is life. And the more you can ignore it instead of letting those people get the satisfaction of your anger, the happier you will be. Chin up and just know that anger really isn't the answer.

Everybody labels, and everyone is labelled. It is a topic that seems to come up often, and I have never heard a single person say that they agree with labels. We don't like it; but we all do it; and we can't change it. It's just life, ignore the people who offend you.

I try not to stereotype people myself, because I am SO beyond being labelled. I don't ever try to brag on myself or anything, but I will point out, I am not label-able. This just makes me more able not to think of people as all the same, but as interesting and individual.

That being said, I read people well, and there are two "types" of people I often find myself subconsciously labelling.

There are those at my school who are "goth", but really, I know they just want to be known as different, so they dress "different", which, in our world, is becoming the same. Know what I mean?

Secondly there are those girls ("stupid girls") who think that if they pretend to be stupid then they will be cool. They just get on my nerves SOOOOO bad.

Anyway, I'm glad I got all that off my chest. I think that this board is DEF a positive thing. Thanks for posting it!

It's close minded to stereotype, so don't do it. Period. If others do, let it slide...the world is a cruel place.

I take that back. Don't let it slide. Make those ignorant fools pay!! Pain, I say, pain!

    Thank you for your posts.
I agree with each of your posts and I find that the only reason why I posted this was because I was angry and I wanted to make a difference.

Out of curiosity what is the difference between anyone dressing 'different' and being bullied and abused and rascism. Black white and stereotypes.
Both I THINK are just as disgusting.

I want to hear your views not start an argument.
    Please post

I'm not saying that either is worse than the other because they both are horrible things. But I do think that racism is more hurtful because they can't change who they are, as dressing one way or another is a choice.

Meh, i used to get called Emo simply cos i wrote poetry and i adore Fall Out Boy. But i'll call certain people 'chavs'.
It's life. If people wanna label me, let them. It's a sticky label that can come off whenever and be replaced with something else.
    It's not permenant. =)

Any kind of discrimination is wrong. My advice is to ignore it when people label you, it only shows off their own ignorance. The way someone looks or dresses, their race or ethnicity, etc. has nothing to do with their accomplishments or worth as a person.

Aw come on Bob, live and let live is only for the young whose hearts are open books.

If someone insults me, then turning the other cheek won't teach them anything, and if they of the mind to insult someone for fun, then trying to reason with them most likely will only fuel their mockery even more.

Now, a swift slap in the face, or a tirade of insults more powerful and insightful than theirs will shut them up and make them think twice about opening their dumbs mouths again....I don't like the idea, but I know it works, seeing as it's the same kind of behavioural psychology that most likely trained them into insulting individuals for attention in the first place.

Or you could just get on with it and let them be.

^Hmm I don't believe violence is ever the answer. I believe in karma. Someone does something bad...it WILL catch up with them...so I don't need to do anything about it, physically anyways. There is nothing wrong with a little diplomacy though.

hmmm well Ive had every label a high school girl could get and do I care? no! wanna know why? because if someone has taken their time to notice that I'm not like them then why should I be concerned with them and their own miserable life? because for one thing everyone is different, and being "EMO" or whatever is stupid because its all attention based, ppl who are really "emo" dont show it out in the open. so either way the whole planet is full of labels and stereotypes, its life, who cares. prove that you're a bigger person and dont let it get to you.
