The clock has always been so alive
But let me recall the moments past
It wasn`t the air that made me survive
You were the reason why I could last
You`d hold me tight until I fell asleep
And if the mattress would dare turn wet
Into the dampness you`d slowly creep
And I`d be dry on your side of the bed
Can you recall your beloved amethyst robe?
The wintry day when I had a runny nose
There were no tissues in the wardrobe
Your dress wiped it, then you held me close
Sometimes I`d sleep in the rose-pink cot
And you`d sing to me till the moon had sunk
Same lullaby your weary mind had thought
But I`d stare with eyes that never shrunk
Those dusks in the park when I wanted to swing
And you`d push, because my legs couldn`t reach
I`d shout with joy, and I`d feel like a king
You`d keep pushing, though feverish and weak
You were the one who taught me to walk
To button my shirt and tie my shoes
We must open doors only after a knock
When the road forks, we must wisely choose
I`d come crying when I`d skin my knee
And you would wipe the tears off my face
Never have I seen and never will I see
Love, greater than the warmth of your embrace
Your love cannot be overridden by any god
The love that I know I can never repay
Any attempt I make, I know will have flawed
Because I love you more than three words can say...
