How I feel About my Mother

I just had to get my feelings out. I read my mother some of my poems and she snaps back "Why are they so depressing? Why is it about death? Are you going gothic or something? Are you feeling ok?" Of coarse I'm not going gothic, which I have no problem with, and I'm ok. Its just this is how I feel when my mother gets drunk and throws things at me. Plus, most of my life has been depressing or sad, I have had good days, but the depressing ones rule over. Anyway, I'm just tired of being judged by the poems that I write. Then she goes on saying that "good quality poems come from experiences and from the heart, and I know that those aren't experiences so they can't come from the heart." Basically she's saying my poems suck. But they are experiences, even though they do suck. If you would like to comment I shall not stop you. If you wouldn't like to I will still love you anyway! Thanlyou for reading this, if you read all of it :)

If the poetry comes from your heart. Then it does not suck.
If you do not like your mums opions then dont show them to her.

I won't anymore. I just hated how she acted.

    That was very poetic, Bobby.

Fading Memories, I agree with the above. Your poetry is not meant to make your mother proud, or happy. Sure, it would be nice, but her insults give you all the more reason to write. Write to release your pain. Your mom, if nothing else, is an inspiration.
