Uhm. I have this one poem that is sorta animal related. It's only related on a shallow level, from the words exactly. I'd like to enter something, but I don't know. The poem is "To Kill A Mockingbird". (Also "Curious")Please check it out and tell me what you think.

Thnks. And good luck with this contest.

    Xx Lady xX

She was the sweetest dog ever
    Such a lovely temperament
Fur the colour of angel's wings
I'm sure she was heaven sent

She was a hint of Border collie
    But an overall Labrador
White apart from spots on her ears
    A puppy that everyone adored

She always had the time to play
Never once did she bite or snap
Even when she got really big
She still tried to sit on your lap

She'd grown up into a lovely dog
    So caring, regal and wise
Brought countless puppies into the world
Yet she kept the youth in her eyes

But as the years passed us by
She started to lose her sight
Yet she still kept up high spirits
Wouldn't give in without a fight

She lived until a ripe eighteen
    Before she eventually passed away
She was the best dog ever, my best friend
And I miss her every day ©

    Xx Roxy xX

    Fur like a brillo pad
    Or like a scrubbing brush
    Blonde, curly and messed up
    But really soft to touch

    Brown eyes sparkling like gems
A nose all black and wet
A fluffy tail that wags a lot
The sweetest dog you ever met

She likes to sleep stretched on the rug
In front of a warm fireplace
Or curled up on her comfy bed
With a serene look on her face

She loves to have a mock playfight
    With barking and rolling around
But she wouldn't hurt a fly
    She's just a playful hound

She loves to be petted and fussed
She's sit there with you all day
This sweet dogs name is Roxy
And she's fab in every way ©

    My Dear Molly
    by ~BRiDDY~

We got Molly when she was a little kitten,
and she was the cutest thing around.
She would unravel the toilet paper and climb the curtains,
then fall asleep without a sound.

The whole family liked to cuddle and play with her,
and oh how she loved the attention!
She would fall asleep absolutely anywhere,
on someone's shoulder or rubbish bin.

She grew bigger and bigger every day,
    until she was fully grown.
She started to catch rats and birds,
and go out all night on her own.

Molly was definitely a lap cat,
she loved to snuggle up on someone's lap.
But i think she thought the garden,
was the best place to take a nap.

A couple of times Molly went missing,
she even got sick one time.
But she would always return home alive,
except for the night she died.

That night I was woken from my sleep,
and pulled from the comfort of my bed.
I was led into the lounge, and what I saw there,
    was my molly lying dead.

My family were gathered around her stiff body,
and told me she had been hit by a car.
She had tried to drag herself back home,
but couldn't make it that far.

    My tears were uncontrollable,
and my sobs were making me insane.
Molly had died at only four-years-old,
and she would have been through a lot of pain.

It's been over two years since Molly's been gone,
and I'm hating our time apart.
And although she was only a cat,
she will always hold a place in my heart.

    ~ R.i.P Molly, I will never forget you. ~

Lay on the Mantle for me

I'm sorry, dear, I was so cruel
Now that you're missing, I am the fool
I'm terrified that you endured pain
Just so I could be a little vain

Teasing, destructing, even though you couldn't understand me
I made it so hard for you to accept me as family
When we got you, I promised, I would love you forever
Your smelly breath, claws, and collar of leather

As your sickness set in and your legs gave out
Only Mother could cry, only she could shout
We didn't understand, we thought you'd be here for a while
What we didn't understand, was that we were in denial

It killed you in a week, this terrible disease
No surgery could be done, the vet wasn't pleased
We cried for hours, it just didn't make sense
Your disease was brought upon you at our expence

As you are now gone, please do me a favor?
Sample a bone of every flavor
Stay in your little box, carved from a tree
And Precious Savanah, lay on the mantle for me
