you dont, Senior members can vote when the read a poem. and the ones (i think) with the most votes and highest ratings are chosen. unfortunately.. this part of the site is broken(like a lot else) so i dont think they winners will change any time soon...

what do you mean this part of the site is broken? The only thing that needs to happen is for Dainz to post who won and then you will be able to vote again. It's not broken.

1) The chat room is down.
2) I cannot edit my poems once submitted.
3) The site's dictionary is missing many words.
4) The moderators are a bit sparatic in deleting threads, issuing warnings.
5) The managers/owners of the site are essentially unattached.
6) The weekly contest is not even MONTHLY.
7) The individual awards need to be updated.

Shall I go on?

Daenerys, the reference to something being broken was about the contest. The fact that it is not changed does not mean it's broken. It has at times been close to weekly, but does anyone praise the site for that? I don't think so.

And the chat room being down does not mean that it is broken, it was shut down because people would not behave in there.

I am aware there are problems, I was not saying there were none... was just commenting that the contest was NOT.

If people would just enjoy what IS working, the problems would not seem so major.

It's a chat room, talk on MSN.
Learn to spell correctly, or use an online dictionary.
And, the weekly contest, big deal.
People can still read & write.
OH, about the editing.

I also enjoy what IS working, I don't want a cookie and it's not her computer, the edit feature is not working or "broken" at any rate, you can't use it. It tells you your poem has been edited successfully and when you view your poem, it is unchanged. If anything else doesn't work the way it should, I don't think it matters if it is broken, it might as well be if you can't use it. As far as spelling correctly, people do make accidental typos and the spell check feature is a quick way to bring this to your attention. English is a second language to some poeple on this site and I am sure they are not grammar scholars. Maybe people don't want to chat on MSN, maybe they want to chat with fellow poets......We must take all people into consideration and to some, little things mean a lot.

I do not wish to edit due to grammatical or spelling errors. I never make either.

I wish to edit words, structure, and phrases. I cannot.

Much is not WORKING properly, perhaps I misinterpret the meaning of 'broken.'

Some parts of the site are working what more can be done will be. It's not all that bad it's when nothing works at all. Let good poetry live and don't let it die. To everyone that loves poems.

Sure. I'm not upset, never said I was. Perhaps a bit irritated, but not severely :) I'd like for everything to work, but I appreciate what does.

^ Jason, where were you going with this? Yes, we are extremely active, but what can we do for those tired of nothing working properly? We cannot solve any of the said issues. Join our club if you like constructive criticism, meaningless chat, and contests. Don't join in hopes of fixing the website's problems.
