You don't ask somebody...

Couldn't hurt. Asking and forcing are two seperate things :) While you SHOULD go with asking, I tend to use force in my personal relationships :) Jpd.

I don't see why not. Ask see what he thinks, if it's a no then it's a no. If you think he might feel like you're being a little too forward just tell him you're looking for a friend to go with you to California and see how he reacts.

That makes it a lot harder... I don't know what your relationship is like with him, but he probably just wanted someone to go with and you were his best option.

Oh, and why is he going to California? If it's to visit family or something along those lines? If it is then I would have to say that's a little weird if you guys aren't in a really serious relationship. On the other hand if he's going down for a competition of sorts maybe he just thought he would have the most fun hanging out with you while there, and I can't see anything weird about that.

He asked you...well, try not to read into it too much. He may have meant it as a friendly gesture, or he's madly in love with you. Haha, or somewhere inbetween the two! People are different, intentions vary, and you know his natural character better than we do. You be the judge.

Well it would be easier to judge this if we knew the situation... like why he is going there, for how long ( dont know if you already said that ). It would be easier. Now.... i would say dont go. If you find things are unnormal or awkward.... then your stuck with no way home. So yeah...

Depends if I trust the person. If so, sure. Sounds fun.
