Question to ppl in college???

If you were dating anyone in high school and that person went off to college what happened? did you stay together or split up?

reason Im asking is this fall my Bf is going to go to green bay to join the ski team there and well we want to stay together but I don't think it will work, we are VERY close but I know life is going to drag our lives in other directions. so had anyone stuck it out and gone through with a long distance relationship?

where he is going it about 4 hours away so we will see each other on weekends but I don't know if that will be enough to keep us together.....

It's going to be difficult because your both still young and your going to kinda want to persue other things. You never know what's going to happen in the future, all you can do is give yourselves a fair chance. Believe me though if your relationship can last until your both completely finished school then you'll be able to make it through anything together. This is probably the best thing that can happen in your life right now, Although your upset about being apart it will test your relationship to the ultimate level. It's not going to be easy but if it was ever meant to be somehow it will find a way to work itself out. Good luck in the future.

It all depends on the two of you and how 'in love' you realy are. I fyou want it to work out then simply it will. You BOTH have to want it badly enough for it to be okay and worth the distance.

Personally- I can't do distant relationships. Granted I know I don't pick the BEST of guys when it comes to it, but the distance thing is really hard if you don't trust each other and don't expect there to be any other temptations or mistakes made while you're apart. becuase trust me. THERE WILL BE.

Well, I was in the same situation, only he was only going to be 2 hours away, not that far right? Well, he decided to break up w/ me anyway, but I understand why now. We had only been going out about a month and a half, but idk, he wasn't leaving for awhile, but I understand, anyway, this isn't about me. It all depends on the situation, how long have you guys been going out?? If it's been awhile, then you might be able to make it, but who knows? When the time gets a little closer, talk to him about it. Don't bring it up to early, that'll just create stress in the relationship, take it from someone who's been there.
