Dream Dictionary

Dreams can be associated with poetry if you use your dreams to write them, but to do that you need to find the meaning. Please tell me some things from your dream and I'll tell you what they mean if they're in the dream dictionary.

    It says:

A door in a dream expresses the idea of a movement between two states of being. It can gain us entry into a new phase of life, such as puberty or middle age. There may be opportunities available to us about which we must make deliberate decisions. If the door in the dream is shut or difficult to open it indicates we are creating obstacles for ourselves, whereas if the door is open we can have the confidence to move forward.

    It says:

When the setting in a dream is dark it usually suggests some kind of negativity, a state of confusion or the depressed, hidden side of the personality. It can also suggest the Shadow, or a part of ourselves which we have not come to terms.

I have a dream about all the new books that I read. I really care about the books and the people in them, but when I meet the people in my dreams, I wake up. Heh, kinda dumb, eh? Yup, I'm asking, what does it mean?

    It says for books:

Our search for knowledge and the ability to learn from other people's experience and opinions, is symbolised in dreams by books and libraries. To dream of old books represents inherited wisdom and spiritual awareness - sacred ones, such as the Bible or Koran, signify hidden or sacred knowledge. To dream of account books indicates the need or ability to look after our own resources.

Ok, i had a dream where i was helping Madonna look atfter her kids but she had two extra ones called Pat and Bethany and she had seven baby bunnies in the over with her cassarole where their feet where being warmed cos they were cold, but they kept falling out of the tray onto the hot part of the oven were they got their feer covered in melted cheese and were eating it off, and i had to keep putting them back on the tray to keep them warm before they got burned.

    Analyse that!!!!

(On a side note, the dictionarys mean nothing (as i've already mentioned) Dreams are our sub concious and can mean anything to something comepletely random cos they are just our jumbled thoughts to dreaming about our day which is still fresh in our minds.)

Ok, to answer your question I'm getting it from a book by Pamela Ball. I've been studying dreams for a while and have been taking a lucid dreaming course as well. I also bought another book by my favorite dream book author Patricia Garfield. I have also have 2 books on interpreted dreams and one book (which got me started) Control your Dreams by Jayne Gackenbach and Jane Bosveld. I'll do another post for the dream meanings.

To answer Gem that dream is just plain stupid. I'll answer it after I get done with lol's. Ok I found tree in the book and it says:

The tree is symbolic in dreams of basic structure of our inner lives. Different trees represents different things. For example, a tree with wide branches would suggest a warm loving personality, whereas a small closeleafed tree would suggest uptight personality. As far as the roots of a tree are concerned, this is connected to how we relate to the earth. On the other hand, the trunk of a tree indicates how we may use all available energies. In another sense a tree represents heaven, earth and water - the Tree of Life.

Gem I'm not saying you did, but you might've just made that up to spite me (if I'm using the word right) because nothing in the dream can be interpreted. I have a dream log and when I got the dream dictionary, I found things in all my dreams. But if you want to have a debate on it we'll open a new thread. We'll see how many people agree with me or with you.

    ^heh, that's not a debate, that's just picking sides!

I think that there's a good mixture of both of your arguments, and that our chances of finding out 'the truth' at this time seem kinda shady. Nobody really, really knows why we have dreams. They may come from our jumbled thoughts, but we still don't know why. I think, whether or not your dreams come true, they can help your poor mind sift through all of your thoughts, and present them to you in a symbolic manner. I have to say, though... I think just as much depends on HOW you choose to interpret your dreams, as what your dreams are. Two people might have an identical dream, and interpret them totally differently.

Hm, for my dream: It was about Jesus, strangly enough. He was getting crucified. (An appropriate dream for Easter night, when I had it. Would have made more sense on Good Friday, but eh.) There was an evil lady, possibly symbolic of satan, and she was the one lashing him. The whip had sharp metal squares tied onto the ends of the sections - this might be some random memory from Passion of the Christ. Anyway, at one point in the crucifixtion, my best friend and I were allowed to take Jesus away from the lady and cleanse his wounds. We couldn't do much to stop the lady, apparently. We knew we'd have to give him back to her, so we asked her "we can take him again, can't we?" And she laughed at us, and told us that she was going to kill him.

    Hrm. Yes, it was distressing.

Somewhere in the dream there, I had to work on a project for one of my classes. Oh, the plot thickens!

My dreams are wacked. Most of them involve Eastern people (Chinese, Japanese, ect. Im not racist, but they often appear). I get pregnant a lot, despite my real life inactive sex life. And I never walk places, I float, and sometimes I cant get through certain doors cuz theres wind tunnels. Kidna weird.

Oh yeah??? I'm making it up am i? Shows how much your dream course is telling you.
it was a true dream and thats what i've been saying. You can never tell what they mean.

But a friend in my club, Twisted Heart gave me her views when i was telling everyone my dream in the forum and shock horror, look what she said

"Oh Gem, lol. Okay, if you want us to try and analyse this... let me ask you one question... Are you pregnant or are you on birth control? Those are the only things I can think of. If you are pregnant, then that explains the whole baby and bunny theory. If you are on birth control, then it may explain why you are trying to save the bunnies. As far as the cheese is concerned... haven't quite figured that out yet.

Let me explain... A long time ago, the doctors used to inject your 'sample' into a rabbit to find out if you were pregnant. Thus began the story about whether the rabbit died or not. If the rabbit died, you were pregnant.

Then there is the whole thing about you trying to keep the bunnies warm... This could be a metaphor for you using birth control so the bunnies don't die. Okay, now you have the bunnies hopping into the cheese and getting stuck and you having to keep them from getting burnt. The cheese could represent your anxiety about having children...

Or it could be that bunnies were the last thing you thought about last night before you went to sleep and that is all....

Anyhoo, I really didn't expect this kind of dream when I opened this thread and as I am not a psychologist, psychiatrist, or rocket scientist... I may be completely off base. lol"

So there ya have it. Your dictionary is amazing =)

I wouldn't be being nasty but don't tell me i'm spiteful or making things up. I don't lie. >=|

I think that we should mind the meaning of our dreams first. But not all the time. Some dreams are just better left unexplained.
