I've had a best friend for 14 years.
Since we were four years old in nursery to now, in our last year ay college.
A lot fo other friends i've fallen out of contact with since in person but we all keep in touch via MSN and email and myspace.
But i think the only reason me and Bob (her nickname) have stayed friends is cos we don't hang out ALL the time, but we're always there when the other one needs us.
    That's life sweets.
It's the friends we make after college that stick with us for life.

You'll never have best friends like you did when you were 10. Life gets a lot more difficult/serious and you'll have less and less time for one another as you get older. Soon you'll have your own families and bills to worry about. While some friendships don't neccessarily end, they rarely stay perfect.

Hm...it's not like all friendships end, i have a friend since i was 5, that means 10 years, and we're still friends...but i do understand the feeling of seeing your best friend slip away...it also happened to me, my best friend stopped talking to me and when i asked why, he said "we are different from eachother"...it really made me sick...
i guess it happens, most of the times, 'cause people are not giving enough value to friendship...

My lifetime is not over yet, so I cannot say if we have or will last a lifetime, but it has been 16 years. Sometimes you grow apart because you are at different places in your life, it happens with lots of people. While I can forsee no end in my head, it does not mean it wont happen someday. You can't predict what is going to happen every moment of your life, all you can do is learn to appreciate everything you are given and what is taken as well. It all comes and goes to show us something.

Me and one of my best friends went through a patch like that, where we barely spoke. It really hurt and i spent ages agonising over it, but i think it was just a part of us growing up, and now we're closer then we were before.
It'll either make your friendship stronger, or you'll realise that it's time to move on, and that the reasons you became friends in the first place are no longer there. Good Luck! xXx

    High school changes everything.

    Last year..
    I lost my best friend.
She'd been friends with me since. Hmm, kindergarten, actually. ANd, one day [9thgrade] she stopped talking to me. No reason, no hints, no nothing.. Just didn't say a word.
Then, I made a new 'best friend'. She decided to tell people I lied about stuff I didn't, so yeah. WE're not quite friends anymore.

The kid two spaces above is seriously correct.
    High school changes EVERYTHING.

    Things last, I know that.
But, only if it's wanted by everything/everyone who is involved. If you want it, she may not.
    Therefore, it's gone.
...SO, it's not quite up to you.. Eh.
Just deal with things as they come.
Don't worry about what's to come, even though that's quite hard to do.

I know what is going through yor head right now. A while ago my best friend and I started to slip apart. But we kept fighting for our friendship to stay together. In the end we stayed together and we are still friends to this day and probably will be for the rest of our lives.
