    Poem # 1

    Footprints

We walk along, hand in hand,
    Leaving footprints in the sand.
    Watching sunsets, near the sea,
Always and forever, you and me.

    Leaving footprints in the mud,
    Honey, baby, you're my stud.
    Stealing kisses in the rain,
No more suffering, no more pain.

    Leaving footprints through the years,
    When other footprints disappear.
    Gazing at the lovely stars,
Knowing this life is always ours.

    Staring at your wrinkled face,
We're through this life, won the race.
I see the love, inside your eyes.
We leave with footprints in the skys.

-I used to have skys and skies.. but my friend read it as skiis.. and so I just leave it as skys not many people realize the mistake but I'm just pointing it out.. some contest holders judge spelling as well.- Thanks!

    Poem # 2

    You Have My Heart

I'm trying to walk when you make me crawl.
Drooling over the phone, waiting for your call.
When you kiss me, my heart flies above.
When you're with me I know true love.

You are everything I could ever crave.
You are with me. Wow, you must be brave.
I love everything that you ever do.
You better know that: I love you.

I love chocolate... But I love you more.
That's a lot, before you two were war.
I couldn't choose which one I love best.
Now I love you and...you know the rest.

Being so near you, I just feel so strong.
Not being with you, it just feels so wrong.
I'm trying to speak with nothing to say.
I try to breathe when you take it away.

Bad enough you have cooties and I love you.
But I wrote a corny poem about it too.
You make me laugh, you make me smile.
I guess after that... I can keep you for a while.

    Poem # 3

    Do I Know You?

    I see you everyday.
    But do I know you?
I'm with you all the time,
    And know what you do.

    I know all your secrets.
    I know when you lie.
    I'm staying with you,
    Even until I die.

    I know your fave color,
But do I know your heart?
    Not knowing you will...
    Eventually rip us apart.

    I know your laugh,
    I know your smile.
    I'll sometimes hate you,
    For a little while.

    Some say you never change...
    You're changing every year.
But the last time I saw you,
Was when I looked in the mirror.

Hey Midnight.. I was just wondering... do you get a.. prize.. for winning the first round? Or is it just elimination for the last round?

  • *Charisma*

    Here are my three!!!

    Nothing More Than

You may be the one I loved
    The one I'll forever miss.
    But darling we both know,
Nothing will ever come of this.

Nothing more than tears and pain
    Of which I've already done.
There's not even a battle here,
    So nothing can be won.

    Nothing more than broken hearts
    Held on by fraying strings.
We're like a garden without seeds.
    No fruitage will this bring.

Nothing more than tilled up ground
    Left open and exposed.
It'd be like music in our heads,
    Yet never written or composed.

    Nothing more than a melody
    Played only for the pleasure.
    We're like two pirates searching,
    For some nonexistent treasure.

Nothing more than hopes and dreams
    Marked upon a paper
Like water in a boiling pot
It would all end up in vapor.

I can see how we would end
    Only able to reminisce
Darling I know how it hurts
But nothing will ever come of this.
    **************************

    Burned Bridges

Almost to that point where the flame will kiss the wood
Watch what we once had become ashes where it stood

One word away from disaster's finalizing goodbye
A simple fight and it's over. Not one more retry.

A single step made towards the wrong direction
And you can see it burn in my eyes reflection

Another pain, another tear and it will be our last
Left to reminisce upon our blazing past

Bridges aren't far off from burning to the ground
Smoke and ash will tell the story of what we never found

Yet I know the truth is if they ever were consumed.
I'd swim underneath where they stood to get back to you.
    *********************************
    I Am Death

I've watched many a man march down the path
    Unknowing of his true destination
Thinking he'll take a refreshing shower,
    But then meet his finalization.

I've heard the last minute prayers
Of the women and young children too.
They cry out in agonzing tones
As they know what I'll soon do.

It was horrible to watch them approach
And not be able to say a thing.
I knew what the outcome would be,
The bitter consequences it would bring.

And if I could have stopped the gas
I would have spared all their lives.
But men controlled my worst actions
And did worse than a thousand knives.

    I've cradled lifeless bodies within
The sturdy structure I used to be.
I've looked upon men carrying them out.
    It's nothing anyone should see.

I am a cause for broken families,
    Missing grandfathers, mothers, and friends.
I am a hated remembrance of a time
    That you truly can't comprehend.

    Poem number 1
    Never Give up
    by briddy

An ocean of heat blasts over her,
and lingers on her for too long.
She falls to the ground in surprise and shock,
and immediately feels something is wrong.

    Breaking out in a sweat,
she tries to fight this body of heat.
But she can only struggle as she gets slowly weaker,
    and face this powerful defeat.

Her body goes limp with exhaustion,
and her head lolls about on her neck.
She's drowning in a pool of her own sweat,
but her closing eyes it won't affect.

    Her lids are slowly shutting,
her dark lashes and brow soaking wet.
The last thing she sees is a blurry mess,
then she is gripped by a feeling she won't forget.

Eventually she wakes up, in a wave of confusion,
and she doesn't know where she is.
Her body is sore, and her clothes stuck to her skin,
and her damp hair is in a frizz.

She manages to stand, with a bit of swaying,
and she realizes her enemy's no longer there.
The sweltering heat has gone and left her to be,
but has left her alone in fear.

Looking around, she only sees paths,
there's hundreds of them all around.
But which one should she take, where do they lead to?
Should she wait till the right one is found?

    She chooses one at random,
and walks up to the start.
    But something monstrously scary appears,
and tries to stab her in the heart.

She stops abruptly and runs back,
her heart thumping out of her chest.
She turns and tries another path,
but these things won't give her a rest.

She doesn't lose hope and keeps trying,
how is she managing to cope?
Finally there is only one path left,
this path is her only hope.

She closes her eyes and walks towards it,
saying a silent prayer in her head.
She keeps walking, finally opening her eyes,
    to see safety lying ahead.

Never give up hope, even in the worst of times,
and always keep trying your hardest.
Because giving up on these things -
is like giving up on yourself.

    Poem number 2
    natures beauty
    by briddy

On a hilltop far away from anything,
I stand so tall, feeling happy.
Natures best things are all in view,
and the sun's shining down on me.

The butterflies and bees gather round me,
and lift me up into the air.
I laugh, I twirl, and scream with delight,
    then produce one happy tear.

Floating on air with no fear of falling,
I feel so full and so pure.
My heart is bulging with the goodness of love,
as I'm taken on a magical tour.

I pass the rainbows with dazzling colours,
    each one sparkling with dew.
Their colours are being shared with the rest of the world,
and pots of gold are overflowing too.

I listen as the birds sing in harmony,
sending a message to the heavens above.
Angels appear, joining god's gifts at my side,
spreading wings of perfect white dove.

We fly off in the distance to paradise,
through blue skies and clouds of pearl.
And as I look down on nature's beauty,
I know I'm the happiest girl in the world.

    Poem number 3
    body vs soul
    by briddy

    Where the once-living now lie,
Is marked by a single stone,
And there deep down in the earth,
You can hear a desperate moan.

    The soul is crying out,
    Struggling to break free,
For it's trapped within a body,
    At freezing point degree.

    Wandering through a graveyard,
The living feel that no one's dead,
    Because really the graveyard's alive,
    With screaming souls instead.

    Beneath the grave it burns,
As the soul fights to escape,
    The corpse erupts into flames,
Falling victim to some sort of rape.

    The body slowly crumbles,
And the soul is now released,
It drifts up through the earth,
And into the world it is unleashed.

No one can rest in peace,
    Once trapped beneath the dirt
    The ash may still remain,
But the screams can no longer be heard.

    Poem #1
    Helpless Souls

    Brainwashed into the evil
We pretend to be their friends
Then we go and turn around
And tell them this is where it ends
I march forward to the next house
Screaming from the op of my lungs
Until every last one runs out
They are the ones to blame for the war
    For every misfortune we've had
So now we load them in cattle cars
Seeing them weep makes us glad
It's long trip to the next camp
And when we throw a piece of bread in
What a sight to watch them trample
    Over each other
We unload those helpless souls out of there
And sort them by life and death
I take the ones who get to live on
And leave behind the ones with their final breath
We make them run to see how fit
Each one is and if they can make it
    Watching these helpless souls die
Sometimes makes me want to cry
    But I must be strong
    and I must hold on
So I can make them disappear
Those helpless souls who live in fear
And who were the cause of everything destroyed
That I hold close and dear

    Poem #2
    Tourmented Soul

    I am a girl
    Who was in a world
    Where night never ended
    Separated from family
    Was my true fate
As we walked toward the pit of hate
    Minutes went by
While my mom sang me a lullaby
    Of heaven's sweet melody
    But then,
    Where has the melody gone?
    Why did it leave us
    At the crack of dawn
Where is God to stop all of the suffering
    That these people have caused
Why is He is allowing this
    Watching us die
    Just thinking He left us
    Makes me want to cry
    But I must be strong
    I must hold on
To show God that I am loyal
So I may be in the presence of the royal
    Father, Son, and Ghost
Yet my soul is being tormented
    With the question
    Why must I die

    Poem #3
    Stained Tears, Stained Scars

She went to school with a sad little face
She was so glad to get away from that place
That place that nobody could understand
Where she was treated like a gain or sand
Tears were stained on her sad little face
Stained scars took her heart's place
Nobody noticed the pain that was there
She didn't tell 'cause no one would care
    The bell rang
    School had ended
When she heard it, her heart was bended
She tried to stay there for as long as she can
And then she met a sad little man
    He looked so tired
    And so scared
He knew the girl would actually care
    Both spilled their hearts out
    About their life
She told him she was cut with a knife
He said that his mommy took away his life
The girl was puzzled by this response
As he cleaned her face with a bloodstained cloth
    The night had fallen
    He left her alone
So she had no choice but to go back home
The morning came and it was half past seven
She never went to school to see the boy
Instead her soul flied to her gorgeous heaven
And she met the boy there
Soon the world forgot the little girl
Who's tears were stained on her sad little face
And stained scars took her heart's place
