I always end up starting a poem and its really good but then the inspiration is lost and all I have is like one or two stanzas. Any advice? |

If the poem really has no closure, then I'd take that ^ advice and just leave it for a while. Maybe you can come back to it later. But, also... don't be afraid of having short poems. Some really great poems are tiny, and self-contained. It's better to end at a good spot than ramble on just to make it longer. : ) |

I always love writing the endings of poems. I have a hard time with the beginnings. Maybe you could try reading the beginning of your poem again, and see if any new stuff comes to you. I usually just sit there and think of what to say in my head, instead of just typing and typing. |

Often I've seen some famous pieces of poetry in which they write a short stanza at the end, contradicting any structure from previous, and with a repetitive but driving rhyme scheme. If you're not sure what I mean look up Maya Angelou's "Still I Rise" |

Does the poem feel finished? Did it express all that you wanted it to? did you fullfill your poet desire in it? if not, don't stress on it, read it outloud, close your eyes and invision the poem, the emotion you are expressing. Let the end come to you. and it does not have to come immediately. |

I guess we all have the same problem. But for me I must be inspired to write.. I can't just get up everyday and do so.. Because when I write its mostly about my experiences. I gues if you just leave it for a while. The creative juice will begin to flow. and before you know it, you would have writen a great poem. |

HAAA` that`s been happening to me the past month . It`s gotten so irritating cuhs` I end up scratching out the poem later . Just leave it (: If you try & think too hard about it, the poem will be forced . |

If you lost the 'inspiration' try to finish the poem the next day XD |

Dont force it just leave it and maybe you will be able to finish it later when you have more inspiration.. I have a whole folder full of poems that I havent been able to finish yet but I've decided that there is no rush and it will sound better when I know exactally what I want to say and I dont force it. |

It really depends on what subject im writing about, for some reason im able to conclude all but love poems. at the end of the love poems i just throw it together instead of progressively ending it. |

Think about the topic of the poem and think of a twist. Or relax and let it come to you. I was writing a poem and I couldn't finish it so I left it alone and that night, the end came to me. |

This is just natural.. a lot of writers find themselves teeming with unfinished poems not knowing how they can lengthen it. the reason behind this is maybe because you've lost the initial burst of inspiration to portray all those emotions inside you |
