How do u know when ur ready?

My littler sister asked me this question cuz she knows ive had sex before and she only 10 and i dont know what to tell her! at first i just wanted to slap her! i dont kno what to do!

It's just a lower way of asking where babies come from. Kids are curious. Just because she is asking doesn't mean that she IS going to do it, maybe she just wants to know. Maybe you're her role model, you should be setting an example for her.

Just tell her that when shes ready she will know it and she doens't have to ask others about having sex because she will know when its right and when its not right. Its a life long lesson if she screws it up. And if you tell her this, then she can't blame you. What ever you do answer her because you may be the only one she feels comfortable talking to.

Just by reading the title, I can say you are NOT ready. This question won't pass through your head, at least not without a certain answer, unless you truly are 'ready.'

If she is asking about sex, be honest with her...but romanticize sex a touch. "Sexual intercourse is between two people who love eachother very much and want to have a baby." She's only 10, she has to be impressionable enough to believe sex is only for starting a family, instead of just pleasure or pleasure--period. I don't know, this is ridiculous, and I feel that you deserve just as much lecturing as your little sister does. Exactly! How do your 10 yr old sister knows that you had sex? Just tell her the cold hard truth... including the possible consequences of sex. She's not ready at the age of ten and she won't be ready until she can handle the possible consequences after sex.

I think you should just tell her the truth. Sex isn't a casual thing and shouldn't be used in such a way. A 10 year old is NOT ready to have sex I don't care what they say. They just aren't. If she were to have sex now she will regret it. Tell her though that sex is a special thing shared between two people that love each other... and obviously she doesn't no what 'love' is. Tell her the consiquences. All kinds of things could happen to her, especially since she is so young.
