I do ryhme a ton, but ive gotten into the habbit of not. I used rhyming because i thought it sounded more like a poem, but now i rarely rhyme bc it doesnt get my point across

I dont know,.. i used to ryhme a lot too... but now.. reading my early writings.. they seem over-rhymed and a little bit ridiculous,... over-using ryhme i guess
I still like to have ryhme though.. but on long lines.. it feels poetic and epic at the same time.

Free verse....let it flow baby...don't worry about the rhymes, they will come when they have to in the poem...free verse is freedom..

    No not in all..

Rhyming isn't everything.. It doesn't really determine the quality, in my opinion.

Well wen i first started i didnt rhyme

    I do
because i find that its easier to work with
i can't write a poem without it rhyming
it just doesnt feel right to me.

No, I don't rhyme. Well, I have started to, but I don't like it. I feel as if it constricts how you can express what you are trying to say in your poetry.

Not really. I hardly rhyme much at all. Actually most of my poems do not follow a rhyme scheme (I write mostly free verse). I guess for me rhyming seems forced..there's some people who can do it easily and well, but I'm just not like that. If I have to follow a rhyme scheme I tend to have to think too much and alter my original throughts or words in order to follow that perticular rhyme scheme. I'm not good at it and I find sometimes it takes away from what I really want to write. Of course this is different when I'm writting syled poetry. But generally speaking, most of my poems are free verse and totally flow out of me without much thought, or a destinct rhyme scheme.

Basically ryhme is relevant to add beauty to your piece, but the most important is the content and the emotions you can express without ryhming...

I rhyme most often. I think it lends itself well to the poetic genre. Like others have said, I think rhyming lends itself to rhythm and flow, and rhythm and flow makes for a nice poem, but if you're going to employ rhyming in poetry, if that is your intent, than you should learn to master it. If your rhyming is bad, it makes for a bad poem. So, if you're gonna rhyme, strive to rhyme well!!!

    Well,
I kind of think it's more cetchy when it rhymes but
i don't always do it it's sometime to hard.

When you TRY and make the poem rhyme you take away from the feelings you want to go into the poem. because your sitting there thinking "Does this rhyme" when you should just be writing.

Rhyming can come later, just write first.

I rhyme in most of them, but sometimes it just sounds better not to rhyme.

I do tons of free verse.
Sometimes I want to rhyme, and sometimes I just let it all go the way it's going to go.

  • shenoa

Most of them, but not all. It all depends on the flow, the feel of the piece realy.
