I do ryhme a ton, but ive gotten into the habbit of not. I used rhyming because i thought it sounded more like a poem, but now i rarely rhyme bc it doesnt get my point across |

Not really. I hardly rhyme much at all. Actually most of my poems do not follow a rhyme scheme (I write mostly free verse). I guess for me rhyming seems forced..there's some people who can do it easily and well, but I'm just not like that. If I have to follow a rhyme scheme I tend to have to think too much and alter my original throughts or words in order to follow that perticular rhyme scheme. I'm not good at it and I find sometimes it takes away from what I really want to write. Of course this is different when I'm writting syled poetry. But generally speaking, most of my poems are free verse and totally flow out of me without much thought, or a destinct rhyme scheme. |

Basically ryhme is relevant to add beauty to your piece, but the most important is the content and the emotions you can express without ryhming... |

I rhyme most often. I think it lends itself well to the poetic genre. Like others have said, I think rhyming lends itself to rhythm and flow, and rhythm and flow makes for a nice poem, but if you're going to employ rhyming in poetry, if that is your intent, than you should learn to master it. If your rhyming is bad, it makes for a bad poem. So, if you're gonna rhyme, strive to rhyme well!!! |

I rhyme in most of them, but sometimes it just sounds better not to rhyme. |
