Worried about a friend

I am really worried about a friend of mine. She spends more time talking to her bf, Doing her hair & make up then doing school work. We are in year 12 and this year we are only allowed to have 20 days off school before we have to give a reason why oue enrollment at school shouldnt be cancelled, She has already had about 15 - 20 days off school. She hardly EVER hands assignments in on time. Another friend and I have told her that she needs to start working better at school and that if she doesnt her whole life is totaly fucked up. Every thursday she misses school and on fridays she has her traineeship. She thinks that because she has her traineeship (as a hairdresser) she is fine and that once she finished school she can get a job as a hairdresser, but most of the jobs available you have got to have a yr 12 certificate. But the way she is going she wont even last 6 months before she is expelled.

If you have any ideas on what I need to do to get her to realise she needs to concentrate on school work, PLEASE TELL ME. I really dont want her to be expelled, but if that is what has to happen to get her to realise that she is fucking up her life then that is what has to happen.

If you really feel strong about as I can already tell you do, then talk to her and make her understand what she is doing to herself. If that fails, all you can do is let her make her own choice. Good luck.

Agreed, but maybe, as dorky as this sounds, talk to a school counsellor. see if she can do anything to help your friend realize whats going on.

Talk to her . Let her know how you feel about this . Not just that it`ll ruin her future if she doesn`t stop worrying so much about the way she looks, and ehr boyfriend . If she doesn`t wanna end up livin` on the streets, she better start workin` hard cuhs` once you get out of school withotu a certificate, it`s hard enough WiTH a certificate, but this ain`t easy street . She either gotta straighten` herself up, or prepare herself to be screw`d .
