I've been writing for about the past couple of years...And I think I've gotten alot better...But I can only write about love. I try to write about sadness and depression, cause that's what I'm feeling. But they suck. So how can you write a sad poem, without it sounding like crap? |

Sad poems and love poems often share the same pace, but the elucidation of language is very contrasted. Whilst the concentration on the description of emotions is still present, you want to choose your words so that they take longer to comprehend, not so that the reader is bogged down, but enough to hold them in the desired place, as opposed to the enlightening mood of love poems. |

Experience, and try not to force it just let the words come out on their own. |

I agree experience helps, but I started writing sad & dark poems one day and it just came to me. Sad & dark poems are easier to write then love poems, they come much more naturally. Love is hard to word, but we all deal with sadness so it's something we're familiar with. |

If sadness is how you feel write it. dont think about what you are writing, dont think of it as a poem, dont think of it ryhming or anything.how about starting it saying if all i write about is love then why do i feel so sad? then go on to explain your feelings of sadness? xxx |
