Human Reign

Where have all the forests gone?
Hope is losing, eyes are drawn,
Fierce within their own domain,
Dying under human reign.

Nature is a fleeting thought,
Unaware until we're caught,
Killing just because we can,
We are God, the land of man.

Tigers, lions, we don't care,
What's it worth, skin 'em bare,
There's a zoo just up the road,
We've given back, life's bestowed.

Would we like our little cage,
If others came on waves of rage?
Would we see where we went wrong,
Or sing the same old stupid song?

I'm going to do the one about the tiger.

I just wanted to tell you, that if I make it to the next round, I most likely will not be here, I am going to Italy on June 24th.

The Eye Of A Tiger (Acrostic)

There's a black and orange animal.
He sadly lives in captivity
Enduring the restraints,

Employees have given him.
Yellow water lilies,
Embellish the scenery.

Orange trees with yellow-green leaves,
Fabulously line the metal gate.

A walk around the premises,

The new born tiger takes.
If only all the employees could
Go within the boundaries themselves, and
Endure the restraints given to these precious animals
Reacting as if caged for life, then just maybe, they'd understand.

Abandoned baby

Baby cries in the lonely box
He doesn't understand why
No one is feeding him
can't they hear me cry?'

Scared and lonely
He cries himself to sleep
With an empty stomach
In his dream, he will weep

Days go by, he is dying here
He waits there day and night
For someone to save him
He is losing this fight

He takes his last breath
Only in this world for a week
His parents abandoned him
They were just too weak

This isn't my best, but goodness this contest stumped me. I used the cheetah, though not named in the poem, she is directing all her dialouge to him.
Tell me what you think.. I'm skeptical about it.

Where The Pharaoh's Laid

"We'll attack by tomorrow's light," whispered Cleopatra, eyes shinging bright,
"We shall rest the better of the night."
"The lost treasure," she giggled with delight, "Will be mine by the end of tonight."

At her the animal glanced, a bored expression, but filled to enhance;
Sitting there with stealth and ready to advance.
He smiled brightly for tonight they'd dance; moving quickly in the fight, moving with lance.*

"My precious pet, we must be brave; the ruling countries think our attempt grave,"
"But we'll prove them wrong when we live to save,"
"And we'll steal away amoung and knave our way; and that lost treasure we shall 'save'."

A large attmept that they made, in a place the Pharaoh's laid,
A place in the darkened temples they bade.
"My precious baby, we shall crusade, to a place where the Pharaoh's laid."

A Mother's Job [Triquatrain]

With four mouths to feed and an endless growing need,
I feel like I'm missing out -
On living my way, not just living for today;
I just don't know what life is about.

It's not that I mind, for I have come to find
That I really do love all my kids.
Even though I growl and even though I scowl
At all the wrongs they did.

They are cute as a bug, even when they play with slugs,
Which still is gross to see
But I love each one; they are loads of fun
Gabriel, Andrew, Todd and Emily.
