Please help me figure this out (sry, very long)

My ex, ryan, broke up with me november last year, and up til now, we've been best friends. He has the worst moods in the world. when i calls him he tells me to shut up and that im really annoying and he cant stand me. so when i stop talking he gets pissed and tells me how annoying it is that im depressed all the time. this happens almost everytime i call him.
when we were going out and up til now, he's always willing to help me through things that are going on with my mom. she gets really mad sometimes and totally lets me have it even if im just sitting there. he used to care, and for some reason, now he doesn't.
i called him last night because me and my mom had just gotten in a big fight, and things were going on with my boyfriend and his best friend. with everything together, my mom yelling, and my boyfriend crying, i decided to call ryan, because i just needed someone to be with. he got really mad because i was sad or as he put it, depressed. i tried to tell him what was going on, the first time i told him, he said he wasn't listening. after i told him again, he told me that he hated when i called him over stupid stuff and hung up.
i don't know why he's getting all pissy with me all of a sudden... and i would REALLY appreciate any words of advice would be great!

Obviously something's wrong and he's taking it out on you, ask him if he wants to talk about it, either that or he's a jerk you don't want to associate yourself with.

Anyways yes something is wrong nad you need to talk to him. If he starts to get in your face somewhat back down and talk softly so he has to listen. Get out your points and don't stop when he tells you to shut up.

What a jerk, how about just forgetting he exists? Easier said than done I know, but what kind of friend get's pissed at you when you ring up in the middle of a crisis asking for help? Not a good one I can tell you.

He says that the fights between me and my mom don't matter anymore because they happen all the time and that im overreacting. im terrified of her, and he knows that, but he's just like... ahhhhh!!!!!

Ok, so today...
everything was totally different! he was being nice and everything. we had to wait like 3 hours after school ended to get picked up by mom, and when she came, she was in such a pissy mood! today he tried to make me feel better after she yelled. he said that he loved me and that i should call him if anything happens between me and her...

Sounds like you and your mom have this interesting relationship and he doesn't want to be part of that. but does care about you, so, okay. cool.

Should i still call him when something happens anymore? he's the only one i can call... i don't know how my boyfriend would react to it... maybe i should talk to my boyfriend about calling him instead of ryan... hmmmm... these are the deeper questions in life, lol

I agree. Talk to your boyfriend. If you can't talk to him, who can you talk to?

Yeah, try and find someone who will actually listen to what you have to say or what you are feeling. my best friend's ex was so nice to me before they went out and then when they did, he was a fricken ass to me. but now that they have broken up for a while he is really nice again. guys are just weird when they are our age.
