Ok for all the people who dont like the contests with rounds (or if you just want to do them anyway), i am posting a second contest.

Slipped Away

She slipped way
Lonely, she's lost
Into the darkness
Penetrate her heart
Pretending it's right
Entranced by hate
Darkness, she knows

Always alone, scared
Wrong at everything

Years go by, now lost

They just slipped away
lost to her forever.
As she drowns in pain

Slowly it's edges crumble

She can smell the campfire burning,
With the moon shining down on the lake,
And he looks over to her as he says:
"I've got a little confession I've got to make."

She flashes a milky smile over at him,
As she looks into his bright blue eyes,
"Will it make me happy or sad?" She asks,
Smiling through her pathetic disguise.

And he takes her hand, holding it in his,
As he looks into her eyes and sighs:
"If i was to guess, I'd take a stab at sad,"
She shutters, sensing the horrible good-byes.

So she looks over to him with tears in her eyes,
"Then don't tell me," she whispers quietly,
And he looks to her surprised and confused,
But relieved there was no confession of his lies.

And with her head rested on his shoulder,
Tears streak down her solemn face,
And he smiles thinking she doesn't know,
About the nights he spends in disgrace.

Perishable items slowly stack up,
they're ready to travel to the next country.
She's feeding others in time of need,
as you sit there full of greed.

Your next stop is to a high fashion store,

A million new things stacking up,
to travel back to your huge mansion.

How a person could be so crude,
is far beyond my imagination.

without blinking an eye.

My Happy Ending

The bottle's calling my name; chanting threats,
And my breath smells like last night's cigarettes,
But these four walls are caving in around me -
They won't let me forget the man you used to be.

I tore apart the pillows; ripped up the bed sheets -
Cursed and screamed to the moon of your deceit,
I haven't slept in days; eyes are bloodshot red,
And the whiskey and nicotine is getting to my head.

I looked in every corner; stared out every window,

Take Me Away

Baby lets go to Vegas; place our fate in the cards,
Win a few hands of Black Jack; give the dealer our kindest regards,
We'll get lost in our cocktails; laugh the night away,
Dance around in circles as the slow songs start to play.

Baby lets go to Vegas; I think we have a chance with the dice,
Run away from here; throw out all of our parents' advice,
Our eyes will light up for a night or two under the bright city lights,
So how do you feel about Texas hold em for our wedding night?

Baby lets go to Vegas; we can rent a tux and a dress,
Have a drink or two; listen to the preacher say we're blessed,
Get tangled up in each other on the motel's dirty sheets;
Drink some cheap champagne and walk the neon streets.

Nobody's Home

There's a sign out the window; flashing no vacancy,
And I can hear the rain tearing apart at my dignity,
But the thunder crashes as I sit and stare to the sky,
Kicking myself for not stopping to say goodbye.

The moonlight dances across the wall in vain,
And I curse to myself; there's no one else to blame,
But the city lights are now too far away to see,
Yet; they seem to inch closer and closer to me.

I've got the mixed tape you made me on full blast,
And each line you sing takes me back to the past,
With your guitar strumming along to every word -
But with the whiskey; the lyrical lies seem blurred.

So I grab a blank piece of paper and an old pen,
And I listen to every song over and over again,
I analyze them from start to finish; only to find,
That after all; I might miss what I left behind.

I curse underneath my breath; with eyes bloodshot,
And my words are stuck behind a petty throat knot,
So I hope tonight when nobody's home; you cry,
Knowing what you lost when you said goodbye.

How Does it Feel

He woke up to a trashy old motel room; opened his eyes,
And with no one there beside him; he cursed his lies,
His mouth tasted like last nights alcohol and cigarettes,
And the bed stand was littered with old mixed cassettes.

"The best love songs of '03"; was playing on low,
And he was wondering if he should pack up and go,
But every song that played reminded him of her sweet face -
Standing worried in the kitchen; broken dishes all over the place.

Practicing his speech in the mirror; he said: "I'm sorry,"
And he jumped into his truck; revved it up to sixty,
Speeding down the back roads; he pulled into the drive way,
He ran up to meet her, unsure of what he was going to say.

Before he could talk; she jumped into his arms and said:
"I'm sorry Baby, I don't know what was going on in my head,
I spent the whole night thinking, and I finally decided this:
I want you to hold me tight; take me away with a kiss."

Tears filled his eyes as he looked into her baby blues,
And he said: "Well then, how does it feel, me holding you?"
She flashed a milky smile at him, bowed her head to sigh:
"It feels like I'm the luckiest girl alive under the great big sky."
