Sugest you try a few things. Research the anti depressants you have been given (side-effects)etc and talk to your doctor, (some doctor's are hopeless).
Depression's a little like weather, some days will be better than others likewise some seasons.
Internet can be a good place to talk to friends if you find you cant face others knowing what your going through. But people around you can make a big difference even if you can't face socialising.
Depression canbe easy to live with and it can be your worst nightmare, the secret is not to give up hope.

I agree with every thing Sherry has sugested, knowledge is the key. When I was put on the anti-depressants I experienced anxiety and paranoia. It was very scary. Don't worry about your hand shaking , my leg has been shaking for many years its a low end compulsive thing (there are many different types). My doctor provided very little information she had no idea I was quite suicidal at the time. Society and some medical professional have limited understanding of mental illnesses.

Finally I was helped greatly by a psycotherepist, but again talk to your doctor about this.

Maybe its not about tablets. maybe its about looking into what is making you feel this way? sometimes thats what helps more, tablets may cure the symptoms but they wont ever erase whats happened? xx

Psychotherapists listen and in my experience give direction to you understanding your own thoughts, they don't interpret what you say they sort of help you delve in a little deeper so i the end you come up with your own answers. This is hard to explain you may need to ask Sherry

I think my depression is hereditry, like in my genes. which wouldn't surprise me cause my grandmother had it and so does my dad (my dads mum). but everything can be great and perfect for two weeks and in the middle of it i break down crying a cutting.. like what the heck is going on?? and i can't control it.

Depression works on its own, i know for me sometimes i'll get it for a week straight and other times it'll just be a random hour during the day, or other times i'll go months without it. i was given anti-depressants and i hated them so i stopped taking them, my doctor said if i didnt take them it would only get worse as i got older but i'm a natural person and i want to conquer my issues on my own. so yea you can go without them, it'll just be ten times harder to stop the pain yourself....trust me, the scars on my body are proof its hard.

Depression can last for your entire life, or for one day.
There's natural ways around the anti-depressants, but for those who are extremely depressed.. it rarely works out.
Anti-depressants took about a month for me, and I was able to fully stop taking them about a year afterwards. I've heard it hasnt' taken as long for others, but a lot longer for others..

So, it depends on you & how strong you are, hun.

I wish you all the luck in the world on feeling better.
